This piece is well struck with considerable original mint luster. This type has always been considered rare. Nice quality specimens are decidedly elusive and always attract numerous bidders. NGC graded AU-58.

Reverse: Bare bust of Simon Bolivar to left with BOLIVAR below neck. Superb reflective fields containing full original mint luster. Bolivar's hair and facial details are exceptionally well struck. This type is scarcer than that featuring the Liberty head and rarely seen above the grade of extremely fine. Elaisberg's specimens did not compare to the quality of this piece. The grade given a little conservative. This specimen offered here is certainly among if not the finest known of the 1850 issue. NGC graded AU-58.
