Lot 2924
Great Britain. Sixpence Lot, 1887. S.3929; KM-760. Victoria. Jubliee. Value in wreath. A very pleasing group, each coin having attractive, original silvery gold iridescent toining. These coins may seem prosaic, but it took the Cheshire Collector a lot of looking to round up so many choice Jubilee tanners. The cataloguer has made countless trips to England to buy coins, since 1979, and cannot remember ever seeing such a nice group, all together. Not once. Lot of 11 coins. NGC graded Seven pieces, MS-64 Three pieces, MS63 and One piece MS-62.

Lot 2928
Great Britain. Sixpence, 1893. Victoria. Jubilee Head. S.3929; ESC-1761 (Rarity-3); KM-760. Extremely rare with the jubilee portrait as this was the year when the Old or Veiled Head coinage appeared. This rarity, when seen, is normally found no better than fine condition. Our British bidders can consider it a very nice EF, as it's debatable whether there is a hint of wear or not (NGC says not). The surfaces show almost no marks at all, but some swirling die-work lines, very subtle, and are toned a handsome silvery gray. A little bit of striking softness is noted on the bow above the date. 2005 Spink catalogue value is £2,250 in EF, with no price estimated for a better coin. We believe that this specimen is the finest to have appeared on the market in a very long time, at least on the auction circuit. Our estimate may be on the low side. NGC graded MS-61.
Estimated Value $2,800 - 3,200.

Scarce, made as a Proof in this design only in this year, for the special collector sets. 1,329 total minted, of which very few can begin to compare, today, in quality to the presently offered example. A few faint hairlines may be seen under the color, which is a lovely and bright greenish blue iridescence, with gold on the edge, on the obverse. Reverse is more subdued, pale gold and light gray with hues of blue. Worth a good bid! NGC graded Proof 66.
