Young Girl With Doll. Original vintage 16 x 12 in. photograph, c. late 1930s, signed by photographer Edwin Bower Hesser in red grease pencil at the lower right edge. A young girl is posed holding a doll. Right edge has been slightly trimmed; some small chips to edges. Damage at upper right edge does not affect the image and can be matted out. A beautiful photograph; it has been in storage for 40+ years, since Hesser's death.

Tracy, Spencer. 16 x 20 in. production still from the 1930 play The Last Mile, that proved to be Spencer Tracy's big professional break. The shot shows Spencer Tracy (he played convict "Killer" Mears) in the center cell on Death Row, watching as another prisoner is given the last rites before being led away to execution. Signed "Vandamm" by the photographer in pencil on the border. Film director John Ford saw Tracy's performance and convinced Fox Film Corporation to hire Tracy for Ford's film, Up the River. This photo hung in the office of the show's producer, Herman Shumlin. Material from Tracy's pre-Hollywood days is excessively rare. Together with two related promotional pieces of ephemera for the play.

(Weissmuller, Johnny) (1904-1984) George Hurrell Poster of Johnny Weissmuller, Olympic athelete and the most famous Tarzan of them all, 32½ x 22 in. A dramatic black and white, chest-up shot of Weissmuller, sans shirt. At top left is "Paris, 1924" the first Olympics in which Weissmuller swam; his three gold-medals are listed at lower left. At top right is "Los Angeles, 1984," which is the year Johnny died and also the year the summer Olympics were held in Los Angeles. Copyright 1983 by the El-Rich Company Inc. Numbered and signed by Hurrell. Mint condition.

Original vintage 12½ x 9½ in. photograph by Edwin Bower Hesser; affixed to a 20 x 15 in. mount, with Hesser's stamped signature below the lower right edge of the photograph. A lovely, waist-up portrait, c. late 1920s, early 1930s. Slight edge silvering; otherwise, in excellent condition. This photo has been in storage for 40+ years, since Hesser's death.

Wong, Anna May (1907-1961) Luncheon Menu Signed in English and Chinese, in pencil, September 14, 1940, 9 x 6 in. The gray and blue memu with navy and gold border is from The Yale Club of New York. Excellent condition. Accompanied by a glossy 10 x 8 in. print of Wong from a Hurrell negative; on verso is a Hurrell stamp and a stamped letter from Hurrell to Allan Rich.

Wood, Natalie (1938-1981) American actress; three-time Academy Award nominee. Head and shoulders 10 x 8 in. photograph of Miss Wood by George Hurrell., whose stamp is on the verso, as is a stamped letter to actor Allan Rich, stating that Hurrell is relying on Rich to pass judgment on any prints that turn up in the market place; Rich has signed by Hurrell's stamp.

Young, Loretta (1913-2000) Actress who began at the end of the silent era (1929), made many successful films, earning an Oscar in 1947 for The Farmer's Daughter, then seguyed into television in 1953 with the popular "The Loretta Young Show." Two original vintage photographs, one 14 x 11 in. and the other 13¼ x 10¼ in. Hesser's imprint and "Exclusive" are stamped on the back of the first photo, with a manuscript notation, "Loretta Young - First National." Tip of lower right corner is cropped, affecting nothing. The second photo is sepia-toned and has no imprint --gorgeous!! Two youthful portraits. Loretta Young has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame: one for motion pictures and one for television. These photos have been in storage for 40+ years, since Hesser's death.
