B.) CHICOPEE Cavalry Sword. 1862, Ames Co., Mass. 26" blade. Without sheath. Engraved "Chicopee" with 7M-461 on base. Very Good.

  Japanese Naval Officer Samurai Sword. An attractive handmade weapon from the turn of the century. The handle is an elaborate design of engraved and gold-accented metal, coupled with a brown woven fabric covering a stone base. The blade measures approximately 29", and though quite shiny, exhibits some fingerprint spotting. A speckled mahogany sheath with ornate fixtures and tassels. Very Good.

  Japanese Samurai Sword. A beautiful, handmade weapon referred to as "Gendai," meaning modern. Probably from the 1920s-30s. The handle is an elaborate design of engraved and gold-accented metal, coupled with a dark green woven fabric covering a stone base. The blade measures approximately 26", and though quite shiny, exhibits some fingerprint spotting. Black polished mahogany sheath. Very Good.

  "Muff Gun," c.1875. Made by Forehand & Wadsworth of Worchester, Mass. This 3-inch-overall .22 caliber is representative of the tiny single-shot "muff" pistols made around 1875. A small button under the frame permits the barrel to pivot to the right or the left for loading. Comes in handmade wood box. Very Good.

  Remington "1858" 44 Cal. Civil War Pistol. New Model Army. Serial #96074. 8" barrel. Old, but replaced walnut grips, thus no inspector marks. Otherwise all original. Worn from much use, but tight. Housed in handmade wood box with felt lining. Includes powder horn, ammo, original tin for percussion caps, and ammo press. Reconditioned as a "shooter."
