1934 Maryland and 1935-S San Diego Half Dollars. NGC graded MS-67 and MS-66. A spectacular offering of two fresh commemoratives never before seen by or offered to the public! Let's begin with what could potentially be the finest San Diego commemorative half dollar we have ever seen. A mosaic of straw, blue, teal, auburn, magenta and purple hues over well struck and flawless surfaces. This coin is what toning is all about! A display of color that is fitting for a commemorative issued to a state known for its' awe inspiring sunsets. This San Diego commemorative is housed in an old NGC holder, serial # 167550-017.

Continuing, we offer a stunning example of a Maryland silver commemorative. A vibrant mixture of magenta, yellow, teal, blue and golden toning over superior gem surfaces. Completely lustrous and choice for the grade. Quite possibly one of the finest to exist and a new coin to the marketplace. NGC population of 38 in MS67 with a single MS68 example as finest. Housed in an old NGC holder, serial # 167550-013.

As if the quality and eye appeal of these items were not enough to satisfy potential buyers, we point out that these two coins are accompanied by the original packing used to ship these coins from B. Max Mehl to a Mr. Edward C. Denny on February 17, 1936. The cost of each coin, $1.50, is denoted on the outside front of the mailer. The condition of the packing is "About Uncirculated". Lot of 2 coins.
Estimated Value $7,000 - 9,000.

1936 Wisconsin Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-67 PQ. This superb gem Wisconsin half dollar is going to permanently burn an image of originality into all of those who view it! Surfaces with cartwheel luster have patches of sky and turquoise blue toning. Only one tiny tick mark on the arm and scuff mark under the 6 of date is noted. Aside from those two minor blemishes, this piece is exceptionally fresh. The reverse is 95% white with a small patch of golden and sky blue toning at 7:00. We see no reason why this specimen should not achieve a higher grade.

Comes with the original mailing envelope from the state government, dated September 14, 193? A handwritten name and address of the recipient, "Edw. C. Denny", is found on the front with the return address weakly impressed. A notation of "1.57" on the back, most likely the cost of the coin ($1.50) with shipping ($0.07). The original tissue used to wrap the coin is within this original mailer. The quality of this memorabilia could be classified as "Choice Uncirculated" (PCGS # 9447) .
Estimated Value $2,000 - 3,000.
