Lot 3381
1857 $20 Liberty. NGC graded MS-60. PQ. A satsifying, yellow-gold example of this early Type One date. Very choice for the grade -- we've seen worse called better. Nice, clean, and free of the excessive bagmarks for which this type is infamous. NGC has graded only 24 Mint State examples of this date, this being one of 7 MS-60's (the finest example is a single MS-64).
Estimated Value $3,000 - 3,300.

1857-O $20 Liberty. AU-53. Cleaned long ago, now a light golden-orange. We note a tiny dark mark at the truncation of her chin, mentioned only for the sake of accuracy. A rare and popular New Orleans mint issue lacking from most collections.
Estimated Value $2,500 - 2,800.
