Lot 86
Fr-73. 1880, $5 United States Notes. Previously from CAA's 2001 Cincinnati, OH September Sale where it was described as "A really lovely cut sheet made up of four well margined fresh notes. Each of the four has the very strong embossing that is occasionally seen on this type when they have remained in original condition. Years ago cut sheets of better types were seen with some frequency, but most have been broken up to feed the demand for high-end individual type notes. When cut sheets were more common, they used to bring a premium…you usually paid for five notes to get four. Now that they are rarer the premium has gone away. Is opportunity knocking?" While graded "Gem" by CAA, we like the notes as Choice Uncs. Lot of 4 notes. Choice Uncirculated. Estimated Value $3,500 - 4,500

Lot 89
Fr-75. 1880, $5 United States Note. This is the rarest signature combination of the Fr-65-92 series, it's one of only 18 notes known, and this particular note is unlisted in Gengerke. We note some pin holes scattered about, but condition takes back seat to rarity on this number. CGA graded Very Good to Fine 10. Estimated Value $650 - 750

Lot 90
Fr-79. 1880, $5 United States Note. An above-average example of this popular 1880 Series note. Not quite bright enough and well-centered enough to make the Gem grade, but it's close. CGA graded Choice Uncirculated 64. Estimated Value $750 - 850

Lot 92
Fr-81. 1880, $5 United States Note. An otherwise impressive, Gem note except that the bottom margin is too narrow to justify the 65 grade. However, in terms of paper quality and color, this is a monster note. CGA graded Choice Uncirculated 64. Estimated Value $500 - 575

Lot 93
Fr-84. 1907, $5 United States Note. A very scarce Friedberg number this choice. Only about 40 notes are known in all grades (imagine how valuable this would be if it were a coin with a population of only 40 pieces)! CGA graded About Uncirculated 58. Estimated Value $550 - 650
