Lot 1212
1857 Silver Three Cents. Population of 7 with 10 higher. NGC graded Proof 64. Sharply struck and well preserved. This coin is attractively toned with medium shades of steel-blue and gold. Less than 100 were struck, and only a small handfull of choice examples exist today.
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,500.

Lot 1213
1859 Silver Three Cents. PCGS graded Proof 65. First year of the Type III design, here in a near-perfect, glittering blue and lilac version. The toning is somewhat deep and appears drab at first glance, but when the coin is turned to the right angle under a light source, the colors jump out at you. We suspect that if the color was a bit brighter, the grade would also be higher (PCGS # 3708) .
Estimated Value $1,250 - 1,350.

Lot 1214
1876 Nickel Three Cents. NGC graded Proof 66 Cameo. Intense luster and strong cameos. The obverse has a slightly satiny appearance while the reverse is blazing and brilliant. Don't let this grade fool you -- NGC reports only 3 in this grade and NONE finer (as Cameo). In fact, the only finer piece reported by NGC is a single non-Cameo Proof-67!
Estimated Value $1,200 - 1,400.
