  1857. Small date. Newcomb 3. PCGS graded Proof 65 Brown. CAC. Gorgeous fiery red with bluish highlights. The surfaces are pristine, with perfectly intact mirrors and frosted devices. The srike is absolute and bold, as expected for a proof issue. 1857 is the final year of issue of these famed Large Cents, with the Flying Eagle cent already in production since late 1856, and launched for general circulation in 1857. Although deemed "Brown" by PCGS, this is a stunning gem proof confirmed by its CAC green sticker. Get ready for some strong bidding on this lovely gem example. Pop 2, none finer at PCGS.
