Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 334
1882, $10 National Bank Note. Pasadena NB, Pasadena CA. Fr-482. KL-1188. Ch. 3568. Fr. 482. PMG Choice VF 35. The second bank to charter in Pasadena in 1886 would operate until being liquidated in June of 1914 after issuing Brown Backs and 1902 Red Seals and Date Backs only. This new to the census stunner is far and away the finest note known on the bank, as the census shows VG's and Fines with a single VF note also being a $10 Brown Back out of the now 14 notes recorded. In fact, this is the finest graded Brown Back on Pasadena, as only this bank and the First NB were the only ones to issue Brown Backs, and the finest on First NB is in a PMG VF 30 holder. Great pen signatures of Assistant Cashier Edward J. Pyle, and J. Carvasso Fraser as President. PMG notes pinholes for accuracy. This is only the second appearance of any note on this bank in twenty years, and the last appearance was four years ago. We would not be surprised to see this beauty exceed the estimate. Estimated Value $4,000 - UP
