Hand Painted Roman Glass Beaker. Circa 3rd-4th Century C.E. H. 10 cm.; Dia. 7 cm. Translucent greenish colorless glass beaker. Within linear yellow and red lines, a scene depicting a youthful male wearing blue shorts and a green conical cap picking the fruit off a palm tree; behind a male goat looking backwards at a swaying palm tree and a lady (painted in pink, blue and yellow) fleeing right. Outstanding condition, free from chips and repair. Normal weathering with faint iridescence. An amazing and extremely rare piece of antiquity!

This beaker is similar to a number of pieces produced in the Padane and Alpine areas of northern Italy as well as in Campania. Jugs, amphoriski, bowls and thinly blown cups such as this marvelous piece, have floral and animal subjects. Cf. Glass of the Caesars. Masterpiece Thread Decorated Jar. Byzantine Period, 5-6th Century C.E. 11.2 cm. Blue-green with emerald-like iridescence. The neck threads on this fabulous vessel was formed with one thick continuous loop containing 11 separately applied handles (one missing probably since antiquity). Superb Sidonian Cobalt Blue Flask. 8.3 cm. Roman 1st Century C.E. Mold blown with an oval body blown in a bipartite mold. Two small trail handles of translucent light green glass extended from below the flaring lip to the shoulders of the flask. The decorative lattice pattern in the center is flanked by a fluted pattern above and below. Magnificent quality and appears free from cracks, chips and repairs.

Large Roman Blown Glass Molded Bowl of Translucent Green Glass with Vertical Ribbing Completely Surrounding Vessel. 2nd-4th Century. A remarkable example of superior Roman craftsmanship is clearly evident in this flared bowl achieved by blowing the glass into a mold. The vertical green ribs are indeed raised slightly, the green in the glass becoming deeper in shade due to the increased thickness. 7.6 cm tall with a 15.8 cm diameter. Two fine jars, the tallest at 11 cm has a great shape and a particularly fine, flared mouth a glass band on the neck which may have allowed for a lid. Translucent green with areas of iridescence.
