1929, $5 National Bank Note FNB in Drake, North Dakota. Fr-1800-1. KL-1170. Charter 12393. S/N F001497A. Some stains noted. Scarce. Very Good. Estimated Value $300 - UP
Chartered in June 1923, this was the second bank in Drake to exist with this same title, as the first incarnation did not last eight months in 1909-10. This bank only elected to issue $5.00 in 1902 Plain Backs and Type One and Two notes. Some handwriting noticed on this example.

1929, $10 National Bank Note FNB of Fessenden, North Dakota. Fr-1801-1. KL-1243. S-2085. Charter #5408. S/N/ D000339A. Cashier J.E. Johnson and Pesident P.O. Holland's signaturres are noted, showing that the bank had placed a second order of notes. Both men served together from 1930 through 1931. While listed in the census as a Fine, today's world of encapsulation would probably find this a Very Fine grade. Fine. Estimated Value $500 - UP

Harvey, along with Fessenden, were the only two cities to have a National Bank in Wells County, which is located near the center of the state. This example is listed in the census without a grade, and we can now say this is likely the finest known small size note from Harvey until, if another example is presented.

1929, $20 National Bank Note. Fr-1802-1. KL-1317. S-2136. Charter 5408. S/N F000009A. Chartered June 7, 1900 succeeding The Fessenden State Bank. This note is from the ninth sheet printed. H. Ingvaldson, President. Housed in a custom plastic holder. Very Good. Estimated Value $400 - UP
This new to the census entrant is now also the lowest serial number known of any small size from this Well Country locale. Cashier is J.E. Johnson and Persident H. Ingvaldson's engraved signatures ae noted as they served together from 1927 until 1929. A problem-free Very Good example.

This is the third different signature combination of the Fessenden small size notes in this session, as Fred J. Jones as Chasier and P.O. Holland as President are found on this Fine graded $20.00. We know that Jones and Holland served together from 1932 through 1933.
