Gem New $2 1976 B-A and H-A Mismatched Prefix Error. The demand for this error has been strong ever since it was discovered back in 2006. $2 1976 FRN B45439609A/H45439609A PCGS 66PPQ Gem New. Estimated Value $500 - 1,000 Three years ago when this specific type of error appeared at auction, one would expect the hammer to fall around $300 to $350. It is interested to note that Heritage sold one in Auction 3577, lot #23705 on 4-27-2020 for $1050, in a PMG 66EPQ holder….just like the one offered here today in The Black Horse Collection. Extremely Fine $5 1977A with last four digits mismatched. This is the second of two wonderful four digit mismatched $5 1977A FRNs, both of which should realize close to $1000/note in today's auction. This is serial #H67346122A and H67344366A graded PCGS 40 Extremely Fine. Estimated Value $700 - 1,300 Although PCGS has graded this note slightly lower than the preceding note, it appears a grade or two higher than the one assigned to it. Rather impressive that the two serial numbers on this and the previous note don't really correlate with one another. We note that HA sold an almost identical four digit mismatch in PMG 40EPQ: Auction 3576 | Lot: 24535 | Jan 14, 2020, Sold For: $750.00. View details and enlarged photos

$1 Choice Unc Missing Print Error. This $1 1988 FRN with no known serial number has been graded PMG 64 EPQ Choice Uncirculated and is a fresh as the day it escaped from the Bureau of Engraving & Printing. There is no green seal or serial number on either the front or the back of this pristine note. Estimated Value $500 - 800 Collectors may wonder why some errors that appear identical to another of the same variety are graded 64 rather than 65 or 66. Both PCGS and PMG have taken the posture that the centering on the face of the note influences the final grade of the error. This note has imperfect face margins, but we would argue that face margins are not a drawback on an error note at all. View details and enlarged photos

Great Match to the previous note. Unlike the previous lot that contains another $1 1988 error note, and look identical face up, it isn't. The $1 1988 FRN serial #F16435547C illustrates the missing green seal and serial number on the portrait side, but it does appear on the back. Put this and previous note side by side and you've got a great illustration of two wonderful mistakes. Estimated Value $500 - 800 If you won the previous lot we strongly suggest you buy this note as well. This is the perfect example of two error notes that look identical on the portrait side but when flipped over, look entirely different. View details and enlarged photos

$5 1988A FRN with entire green overprint missing on back. This is a beautiful $5 1988A Federal Reserve Note that originally came with it's pack-mates, all of which had some form of missing overprint error. This beauty has been graded PMG 64 EPQ, Choice Uncirculated. Estimated Value $300 - 600 This cataloger had the privilege of buying the entire group of 100 of these error notes from a bank vault employee back in the 1990s. The majority of this pack had some of the serial number printed on this error. This specific piece is superior to almost every other note in that pack in that the entire green overprint is missing from the portrait side of this gorgeous note. View details and enlarged photos

$5 1995 FRN Missing Print Error. $5 1995 Federal Reserve Note Serial #F11970644B graded PMG 66 EPQ Exceptional Paper Quality Gem Uncirculated. This note features missing First Printing of the "back" of the note. It is more commonly referred to as a "blank back" note….and it is a real beauty! Estimated Value $600 - 900 As most error note collectors know, the "conventional back side" of the note is printed first. Hence on the holder of this note, PMG states that The First Print is missing, as "backs" are printed before "fronts" by The Bureau of Engraving and Printing. View details and enlarged photos

Bold Gem Unc $10 Overprint on Reverse. $10 1977A Federal Reserve Note Serial #L81076918A Overprint on Back Error Note. PMG has grade this note as 65 EPQ. Our guess is that the grade isn't higher because the face centering isn't dead perfect, but the color on this note is amazing. Estimated Value $700 - 1,000 This banknote is quite special. The green and black inks from the 3rd Overprint as the boldest of any of the errors in this sale. They just jump off the note!! Truly an exception error in a condition that will be very difficult to locate again. View details and enlarged photos

Gem Unc++ $10 3rd Overprint on Back. This note, the previous one and the next came from a small run of errors that came together for today's sale. This serial #L81076937A from the $10 1977A series has been graded PMG 66 EPQ and is as bright and bold in color as it's two partners in this sale. Estimated Value $750 - 1,100 We can't stress enough how special the image of the reverse of this, the previous, and the next $10 errors are. Many of the errors of this type feature much weaker print quality than these three notes. View details and enlarged photos

Small Head $50 w/inverted 3rd Overprint on Back. $50 1993 Federal Reserve Note Serial #B10312710C graded PMG 65 EPQ Gem Uncirculated. This is a multiple error note that shows up once in a blue moon. Estimated Value $3,000 - 5,000 Truly this is a remarkable note from many aspects. Not only is it a $50 denomination note, but it is a Type II error with part of the next note showing on the face. In addition the third overprint is imprinted onto the back UPSIDE DOWN. This is one of those notes that you can seek out for years and regardless of what you're willing to pay for it, you simply can't find another. This R-8 is worth whatever you have to pay for it. Our estimate range is likely too low. View details and enlarged photos

Trio of $100 Choice CU missing Green Overprint. Four $5 FRN Small Head Offset Printing Errors worth salting away: 1988A J04124250B PMG 30 VF with 90% of back lightly printed onto front, $5 1974 E36535819D PMG 58 EPQ with 100% of front nicely printed onto back, $5 1977A L72157790B PMG 64EPQ with 8% of f. Estimated Value $1,000 - 2,000 One might think that with the quantity of $100 denominations printed, that errors should show up much more often than they do. The reason for this is that perhaps 80 to 85% of the total output of $100 notes gets shipped overseas to central foreign banks. There is an almost unquenchable thirst for "greenbacks" in many foreign countries and so, the vast majority of them get shipped to other territories. Errors found in those countries almost never get back into U.S. auctions, but rather trade hands in their own countries. This trio should be worth $1500 but we will start bidding at a very low level to encourage collectors to snag a bargain. View details and enlarged photos
