Lot 307
Rarely seen $5 STAR Butterfly Error + $10 STAR Butterfly. This is a note you likely won't see again for a decade or more, as the new owner won't want to part with it. It is a $5 1953A STAR note serial # *20518792A graded PMG 58 Choice About Uncirculated with nice chunk of additional margin hanging off the lower right corner of the face. Also in this lot is a $10 1993 FRN B02799837* PCGS 53 with LR corner butterfly. Estimated Value $500 - 1,000
STAR notes were printed to replace mistakes the BEP made printing regular notes. Finding any star error is tough, but finding a STAR ERROR on a $5 SILVER CERTIFICATE IS A REAL ACCOMPLISHMENT. The bonus note featuring a small head $10 STAR error is a major plus.
