Lot 1453
1873-CC. PCGS graded AU-53 PQ. CAC. Well struck with lovely light golden toning. The surfaces are satin smooth with just a couple of trivial bagmarks seen when closely examined. There is only a touch of wear on the high points of the design. This is one of the top ten examples graded by PCGS of this date and mint, to give you some idead of its overall quality and desirability. It is believed that about 70 examples of this date and mint exist in all grades, with this well far finer than the average example known. Needless to say this coin offers quite the opportunity for a specialist to put away a rarity that has long been off the market. Some mint luster within the protected areas about the devices. Only 7416 struck. Certainly looks better than the assigned grade given. A recent discovery and graded for the first time ever. Pop 2; 6 in 55; 1 in 61; 1 in 62 as finest (PCGS # 8331) Estimated Value $25,000 - UP
Ex The America Collection.

Lot 1455
1890-CC. PCGS graded MS-62. Frosty mint luster and lightly toned. This is a tough issue to find in Mint State and of course quite popular for the Carson City mintmark. Mintage of 53,800 pieces of which about one percent of those are thought to exist today, probably fewer than 700 pieces according to Coin Facts. This example is a solid and attractive Mint State example and one that will definitely find a welcome place in any advanced collection (PCGS # 8376) Estimated Value $3,200 - 3,300
Ex The America Collection.

Lot 1457
1891-CC. PCGS graded MS-63+ PQ. CAC. Well struck, frosty and quite choice. Only 208,000 pieces struck and perhaps one percent of those survived to today. This one has not only a sharp strike, but outstanding surfaces with nary a mark to be found. These Carson City coins have long been popular with collectors for their rarity and historic time period of their issue. Lots of Wild West stories could be told about the time frame that this coin was struck and carefully set aside for generations. An impressive coin in every way! Just graded at PCGS for the first time (PCGS # 8378) Estimated Value $3,750 - UP
Ex The America Collection.

1894-O. PCGS graded MS-61. A nice lustrous example and quite scarce as such, with a mintage of 16,600 pieces of which perhaps 800 exist today.
