Lot 1449
1843-O. Large letters. PCGS graded AU-55. Well struck and lightly toned. A very choice high grade example of this scarce issue. In our opinion, a Premium Quality example for the given grade. Mintage of 82,000 pieces for the Large Letters variety, of which a scant 275 pieces are believed to exist today. This is one of the finer examples known, with clean attractive surfaces, and just a touch of wear on the high points. A rare issue at this grade level and worth a strong bid from knowledgeable collectors. Just graded for the first time (PCGS # 8216) Estimated Value $4,000 - UP
Ex The America Collection.
