Choice $1 1923 Legal Tender. The centering on this wonderful $1 1923 Legal Tender warrants a higher grade in our opinion. PMG has graded this Fr. 40 $1 1923 Legal Tender, LOW SERIAL #A402B as PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated. Estimated Value $800 - 1,500
The color and margins on this note are way above average and we struggle to see why the note isn't residing in a higher graded holder. Never the less it bears the wonderful low serial number A402B.

Choice Unc. Fr. 224 $1 Educational Note. The margins on this $1 Education note are superior to others we have seen. The color is very good and the inking is sharp. This $1 1896 Fr. 224 serial #142032 has been graded PMG 64, with the notation on the back: Paper Disturbance. Estimated Value $2,500 - 4,000
We suspect the paper disturbance is a very, very minor spot on the front bottom margin center area, but can find no other reason for that designation. It is still a beautiful example of this design.
The last public appearance we can find of this specific note comes from Gengerke census: Bowers & Ruddy 9/1981 FPL @ $2,750….so our estimate may be too low. The Bowers sale was 40 years ago!
