  Panihidnikov Andrei Alekseevich (1923 â€" 1994). Drafted in 1941, actively participated in Great Patriotic War, serving in the Cavalry (!). Distinguished himself during Poland offensive in 1944. By decree of March 24, 1945, bestowed with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, with GOLD HSU Star #5828. Extremely rare for Cavalry. After the war, continued to serve in the Soviet Army. Retired in 1979, as Colonel. Died on Feb. 2, 1994 in Kiev. Group comes with: GOLD Hero of the Soviet Union Star. Type 2. Award #5828. Czech medal â€For strengthening of combat cooperation†w/Certificate. Czech table medal â€30th Anniversary of Cz SSR†w/Certificate. Xerox copy of Heroâ€s biography from â€Heroes of the Soviet Union†book. Includes photo. Xerox copy of full biography (from Wikipedia). Includes photo. Kolyadin Victor Ivanovich (1922 â€" 2008), was a career Red Army pilot. Started in mid-1930â€s, was able to graduate from military pilot school in June 1941 (!). Immediately engaged in the front against German aggression. Flew on several types of aircraft, also served as instructor-pilot for some time in 1943. During WWII, distinguished himself in 685 missions, where he was able to score 15 personal victories. By decree of June 29, 1945, he was bestowed with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Participated in Korean War of 1950-1955, where he was able to make about 40 missions, in which he had 20 dog fights, with 5 personal kills as a final score. Real fighter pilot ace, with confirmed score of 20 personal victories over the 2 wars. In 1961, graduated from the famous Military Academy of General Staff. Commander of an Air Force division, then deputy commander of 4th Air Army Anti-Aircraft Defense, etc. Retired in 1973. Died on November 6, 2008.Group comes with: Order of Lenin #51360. According to citation, this order of Suvorov 3rd class was bestowed upon comrade Chuhaev for skillful command of his regiment and personal bravery during areal battles on the Central front in summer of 1943, including during the battle of Kursk. Later issue then all regular ones, with physical differences in obverse details, i.e. different number of berries on the wreaths, different shape of the kremlin star and area below the clock, etc. Only known to be observed in 212x â€" 228x serial number range.
