Ancient, Biblical Era, Judean Pottery: Five (5) Pieces on Stands. Very Appealing Collection of Black Ware and Terra Cotta Oil Juglets. Fine collection of 5 examples of Ancient Judean pottery ca. 1000 - 600 BC 5 x 2.5 x 2.5" the largest and the smallest 3 x 1.75 x 1.75". Especially nice are the two blackware pieces, the juglet and the ovoid unguentarium. In excellent relic condition, no repairs and visually very appealing. It is not uncommon to see these pieces sell individually for upwards to $250-300 each at galleries. Four have matching, custom wood block stands, the fifth a black wood stand secured by earthquake wax. Estimated Value $600 - 900

Pre-Columbian Pottery: Fine Collection of Colima Pottery of Male Figure on Vessel, a Panamanian Gopher/Pig Shaped Vessel, Plus Two Fine Pots. A.) Two fine examples of Colima (Calima) pottery: The best is the male figure and vessel. Immensely appealing, the figure has a repair to the left leg with part of foot missing. Save for a chip to the flared lip, this piece is wonderful and displays beautifully. Colima redware mocha pot with two handles. Little chip on one handle, otherwise quite fine.
B.) Two quite fine examples of ancient Panamanian pottery. First a wonderful pot found in the 1930s near Panama in the shape of a pig or possibly gopher complete with male genitalia in excellent condition. No cracks or repairs, and just a years old chip to back left paw. In deep brown and darker brown tones Just at 5 x 8 x 4½" and includes a decades old notation of its provenance attached gallery sticker. Second piece is a small Cocle pottery ollas (seed jar) from ancient Panama. Of the Conti style with red and black linear decoration on an orange-tan ground. The olla stand just at 4" and has geometric designs still quite visible, rounded body and flared spout A chip on the spout is restored, but it is otherwise intact. This piece also includes a decades old note(s) of provenance. Both display beautifully. Estimated Value $400 - 800

A nude winged Eros extends an offering to a maiden, beautifully rendered, holding a thyrsus and patera. On the verso, two standing, toga clad, youthful men, one with a staff. Apulian Red Figured Lekanis 350-300 BC in Near Pristine Condition with Nude Winged Eros and Beautifully Draped Maiden. Beautiful Apulian red figured lekanis in near pristine condition. Base is painted black with two opposing handles on short stemmed foot. The lid is beautifully painted with nude, winged Eros holding elaborate fan and likely a patera. Opposing is a heavily draped maiden holding a mirror in one hand a tympanum in the other. with a basket and other items in the image. Lid near pristine save for a .75" chip to lip of lid nicely restored, invisible on the outside, with repair evident under lid. The lid is enhance greatly with palmetto accents and a progressive spiral design (or wave design) surrounding the lip. 7½ x 8 x 10.5". Estimated Value $900 - 1,500

Red figure glazed ceramic plate which sits on a short base, featuring winged Eros, nude, offering a garland. Plate is decorated with a progressive spiral or wave pattern surrounding Eros, with another pattern of elongated designs painted with white slip with the rim finished in repeated black strokes. Two (2) Pre-Colombian Mayan, Polychrome Terracotta Bowls: Impressive Orange & Black Painted, Ceremonial Tripod Bowl & Small Pot. Two (2) Pre-Columbian Mayan Lowlands, terracotta bowls of polychrome slip colors of orange, red and black
1) Painted and incised ceremonial tripod bowl, Mayan Lowlands with painted panels and zoomorphic symbols highlighted by incisions throughout surrounding the sides and continuing underneath the bowl between each of the three legs. The bowl was unearthed in fragments but now virtually intact after professional restoration decades ago. Restorer opted not to fill in cracks as commonly done on ancient Greek and Roman pottery. Interior is painted in red and black polychrome slip. Bowl displays beautifully even with the visible fissures and is a wonderful example from this period, 500-800 A.D. 3¼ x 9 x 9"
2.) Nicely paired with a terrific small pot with rounded bottom decorated in casual geometric designs in red and black colors. Pot is near fine with only very minor chips to neck. 4 x 3½ x 3½. Estimated Value $200 - 500

Men's or Ladies 22k Yellow Gold Cufflinks, Front Face with a Lokris Stater and the Post With a Siver Tetrobol. Outstanding Design. Outstanding set of cufflinks smaller than men's set in this auction that make the pair of cufflinks perfect for a man or a woman. Beautifully custom made in 22K yellow gold, the front face for each is a Lokris Opuntii AR stater ca. 370-360 BC. The obverse is of Demeter, the reverse is of Ajax, nude but with crested Corinthian helmet. The posts are finished with a Maroneia silver tetrobol, 377-365 BC showing the foremost part of a horse on the obverse of one and a bull on the other. 18mm in diameter of the front face including bezel, 14mm in diameter including the bezel for the coins at end of the posts.
