Superb Gem $100 2009A LC01234567*. This $100 2009A FRN bears the serial number LC01234567* Ladder Serial Number. Dozens of collectors will want this note, but only one will exhibit the perseverance to obtain it. This piece should bring a run-away price as it truly is one of the premier notes from The Lunchbox Journeys Collection of Special Serial Numbered Notes. Estimated Value $6,000 - 12,000
This is the type of note that comes along once every ten years or so. Fancy serial numbered $100 stars virtually always trade hands behind the scenes and rarely make it to auction. The demand is so heavy that most dealers immediately know where to go to sell them, the moment they arrive. While $100 solid serial numbers are rare, this beauty is in a different league. Solid s/n $100s are bringing $4000 to $10,000 right now. Our bid range may prove far too low with this ultra rare STAR ladder note.
Remember that perhaps 80% of the $100 FRNs printed each year by the BEP are shipped overseas. So even though one sees inside the monthly BEP production reports that over 100,000,000 are printed monthly, the majority of them go to foreign central banks. The number of $100 stars printed vs. regular notes is just a tiny fraction.making $100 stars quite elusive.

Superb Gem $5 1950 L23456789A. PCGS has graded this $5 1950 FRN L23456789A as a 67 PPQ Superb Gem New. This serial number would be expected in the 1950 rather than the 1950D series, but this is a Specimen note, rather than a regular issue note. It is very difficult to locate Specimens from the 1950s era. Estimated Value $2,000 - 4,000
The grade of PCGS 67 PPQ on this Specimen note may propel the price realized. This note is printed on both sides of the paper.

Gem $5 partial up ladder 34567890. PMG 65 EPQ* Gem Unc graded $5 2013 FRN with serial number MB34567890A. Some consider it a full up ladder, others refer to it as a partial up ladder. Either way it is a Gem specimen. Estimated Value $400 - 800
The star after the PMG 65 EPQ* grade designation signifies it is especially nice for the assigned grade.
This note is printed on the B #2 district with the suffix letter A which #1 digit.

One of two known full $2 FRN down ladders 98765432. This beautiful $2 2003A FRN Serial #I 98765432B has been graded PMG 66 EPQ Gem Uncirculated. Even rarer than the elusive $1 FRN 98765432 serial number. See the next note for the perfect mate to this note. Estimated Value $4,000 - 8,000
To the best of our knowledge only four full $2 Federal Reserve down ladders s/n 98765432 have ever surfaced. As stated earlier in this auction, the vast majority of $2 FRNs are shipped overseas, with Vietnam receiving a large quantity on a regular basis.
$2 2003A FRN H98765432B that has surfaced and was recently sold at $3500. Both that ladder serial number and today's I98765432B were cut from sheets issued by the BEP. From 1976 through the 2003A series.Only the $2 2003 FRN I 98765432A MAY have been printed for general circulation and it has never surfaced.

Gem $100 2006A Full Down Ladder 98765432. PMG 65 PPQ $100 2006A Full Down Ladder KF98765432B. What a great match to the previous lot. Estimated Value $3,000 - 6,000
As most collectors know, the BEP prints both the $50 and $100 denominations up to serial #99,200,000 making them the only two denominations in big head issues where you may find a 987654532 serial number.
Down ladders with serial #98765432 are only known in early series $1 and on occasion on $2 denominations inside of uncut sheets at this time.

Very Choice $1 FRN B98765432B down ladder. Most collectors know that locating a serial #98765432 is an almost impossible challenge. The BEP stopped printing $1 serial numbers above 96,000,000 four decades ago making this ladder serial number super rare. This nearly sixty year old $1 1963 FRN B98765432B has the coveted matched B-B block letters and has been graded PCGS 64 Very Choice New with the PPQ designation on the back of the holder. Estimated Value $4,000 - 8,000
This note and the following lot will enable the winner to assemble a complete down ladder set including these serial numbers: 98765432, 08765432, 00765432, 00065432, 00005432, 00000432, 00000032, 00000002. A feat that will impress anyone that looks at this amazing set.
This note is one of the few where PCGS printed the PPQ designation on the back of the holder rather than the front. It comes from the Mel Wilmore collection sold in 2014 by Lyn Knight Currency Auctions. Please note that you are bidding on just the single note B98765432B in this lot.

PMG 66 EPQ $1 FRN serial #G00000001H. This is the last of eight notes you will need to build the complete $1 FRN down ladder set: $1 2003A FRN G00000001H graded PMG 66 EPQ. Estimated Value $6,000 - 12,000
This is an especially nice example of a serial number 00000001 small size Federal Reserve Notes. The majority of them exhibit ink smearing on the seal or serial numbers, pack binding band marks and other problems. This one is quite nice.
This is the perfect fit to complete this great down ladder set. With it, you will have the complete 87654321 to 00000001 set.
