Humphrey Bogart Suit: Warner Bros. Pictures Handwritten Label in Pocket, Dated August 5, 1941 Production 375, Humphrey Bogart Bold and Clean. Warner Brothers issued wool suit for Humphrey Bogart clearly handwritten on a Warner Bros. label inside suit pocket including the date, 8/5/41 Production 375, Size 38. In very tiny letters just below the Warner Bros. Pictures embroidery, in completely different handwriting is written "Double" and in different ink. (a second suit? a stand-in, a later production? The suit has certainly been worn) It was very common at the studios during WWII to re-use costumes for other films due to shortages.

The exact label in the vest again clearly has handwritten "H. Bogart", Production 375 (but on the lining is stamped, not written, "WB 379). Further the Warner Bros. Pictures label is over-stamped with multiple production numbers. As for the label in the pants, the label clearly at one time got wet and everything smeary.

It is very difficult to match brown pin striped fabric to B&W images, but it seems there is a suit Bogart wears extensively in ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT that very much matches the stripes, buttons and lapels which was released in January 10, 1942 which is the lead time necessary from production in early August, 1941 to release in 1942. Suit is in excellent condition. Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,500
