Project Gemini: Two Cans, 40 Rolled Strips of 70mm Original NASA Film Photos of Views of Earth From Space. A most unusual collection found in two vintage Eastman Kodak film cans. These are 70mm rolls of original NASA film photos taken on flights starting with Gemini V - Gemini XI, each marked what mission and which camera magazine. Some do have leaders that indicate the day taken, which also confirms which flights photos are taken. Impossible to unroll all the pieces of film and count how many images of Earth this collection contains, but know it's a large number. Many collectors/dealers take one 70mm film frame and mount in a presentation where the light can shine through and reveal the sky-blue-and-white gem we call home. 40 rolled pieces of film two over an inch thick. A fine trove from the historic Gemini Missions in 1965-1966. Estimated Value $600 - 900

Ten Cosmonaut Signatures on a Star City Commemoration/Invitation. Star City or Gagarin Research Test Training Center, + Vladislav Volkov Sig. Star City (on this piece, translated as 'Star Town') is where Russian Cosmonauts trained is a common name of an area in Zvyozdny gorodok, Moscow Oblast, Russia, which has since the 1960s been home to the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center (GCTC). Cosmonauts of the Russian Federal Space Agency, and the Soviet space program before it, have lived and trained in Star City since the 1960s. In the Soviet era the location was a highly secret and guarded military installation, access to which was severely restricted. The facility has its own post office, high school, shops, child day care/kindergarten, movie theater, sports and recreation facilities, railway station, and a museum of space travel and human exploration. An impressive statue of Gagarin is located on the grounds, the first man in space.

Offered on this vintage piece are the signatures of 10 Cosmonauts which include Alexi Leonov, Yvgeni Khrunov, Andriyan Nikolayev, Boris Volynov, and Vitaly Zholobov.

Also included is a Russian newspaper from 1969 with a headline of a crew signed by Vladislav Volkov who tragically died June 30, 1971 when his descent vehicle depressurized during the landing of the Soyuz-11. Estimated Value $200 - 400
