Remarkable Collection of 450+ ASTP Recovery Photos with Original Negatives and Multiple Signed Covers from the USS New Orleans. A remarkable collection centered on Apollo/Soyuz recovery after the historic docking between the US and Soviet Union, a feat which given the circumstances at present, seems unlikely to happen again soon. This painstakingly assembled archive includes a signed Space Shots cards by Deke Slayton and by Vance Brand plus a Vance Brand signed Panini Americana card. But the breadth of the archive is the 450+ images spread over 13 contact sheets. The original B&W 35mm film negatives from those photos are affixed to the back of each contact sheet. The photographer was given phenomenal access to all crews including briefings, the scuba teams, helicopter pilots and great images of the actual recovery. Equally impressive are covers signed by Recovery Team Members, Recovery Helicopter Squadrons, Support Crews and more. 12 covers with multiple signatures on each all with interesting cancels whether once in port or if the covers sent to locations in other parts of the world. The amount of effort in assembling this collection is impressive. Finally a collection of 12 covers most with multiple signatures by the engineers, directors, Soviet and American team signed covers by the men who were behind this missions success. Estimated Value $600 - 1,200
