MAD Magazine Original Illustrated Panel 2: "The Lighter Side of Hot Weather" by 50 Year Veteran of MAD, Dave Berg (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Single panel, 24½ x 18½", with two funny strips: Top strip is Dave Berg himself sweating profusely from heat and goes to get ice from the freezer and the tray is empty. When pointed out by the wife, he shouts "See what I mean? If I don't do these things then NOBODY does!" Lower strip is identifiable still to anyone living in older residences when fuses blow due to air-conditioning. Excellent condition signed Berg. Estimated Value $75 - 150

Original Schematic Inscribed and Signed to Peter Wragg Model Designer of RED DWARF by Mike Okuda and Rick Sternbach, STAR TREK (1946-2012) British SFX designer who worked on Doctor Who, Thunderbirds and scores of other productions but came into his own for his extensive model and prosthetic work on the UK series RED DWARF from Season I to Season 7. This design plan a gift to Wragg is by SFX designers Mike Okuda and Rick Sternbach of their Enterprise design NCC-1701-D for STAR TREK: The Next Generation. The inside joke here is that Wragg in his design schematics would drop in anachronistic objects that a distance look like hardware or windows, but up close might be an steam iron, a vase, a golf club, a bottle, an animal or a duck. Okuda and Sternbach ribbing no doubt a hero of their's, have in their plans an air plane, a rocket ship, a Porsche and a duck; hence the inscription.
20 x 40 in simple frame, schematic appears to be in mint condition, Okuda and Sternbach's signatures bold and clean with no fading. Estimated Value $400 - 800
