Rare 1935 Walt Disney Donald Duck Watch by Ingersoll with Donald Duck Pieces on Leather Band. A Treasure for the Disney Collector. While the original (1933-34) Mickey Mouse watches proved a cultural phenomenon and their success in record sales kept Disney in business with cash flow in the 30s, the company also introduced The Donald Duck Watch in 1935. It proved immediately a poor seller therefore very few were produced. Many Donald Duck watches had Mickey Mouse charms on the watch band. The most rare proved to be those with Donald Duck charms which this example has. Crystal has dulled but know the face is bright white, both hour and minute hands move smoothly. But the watch itself needs servicing.
This watch has sold in auction regularly for several thousands of dollars when the vintage Mickey Mouse watch craze swept collectors in the 1990s. It's not uncommon to see them listed today at double the price of an original Mickey. Estimated Value $1,200 - 2,500

Original Disney World 20,000 Leagues Submarine Porthole with COA by Disney Auctions 2002.+ Vintage Original Publicity Still from 1954 Film. Walt Disney's 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA released in 1954 proved a landmark production in live action filmmaking for the studio and proved a smash hit enjoying numerous re-releases which led to it being one of the featured themed (or re-themed) attractions for Disneyland and later Disney World from 1971 to 1994. Not literally a submarine but 40 ton boats that moved along a concrete track with guests sitting below water level. Aboard the Nautilus each passenger had his or her own seat, as well as a round porthole to look out into the attraction. For sale is one of the portholes obtained through Disney Auctions in 2002.
Approximately 16" in diameter it is made of steel and glass this theme park artifact displays regular long-term use and with the patina one would expect. Weight is 26 pounds. Original COA included by Disney Auctions as well as a rare, double-weight 8 x 10" publicity portrait of Kirk Douglas released for the film. Estimated Value $1,200 - 2,000

Rare 1931 Adventures of Mickey Mouse (Book One) with a Lengthy Inscription About the Edition Written and Signed by Roy O. Disney. A spectacular find. A rare 1931 edition of The Adventures of Mickey Mouse, Book I printed in 1931 by the David McKay Company, Washington Square in Philadelphia. The book is in good condition, 10¢ stamp circle on cover, a faint crease to cover and tape lift on back cover and a child with a crayon felt like coloring the last three pages. But the other pages are crisp and clean. But what makes this a standout is the inscription and signature by Roy O. Disney, Walt Disney's older brother who was co-founder of the Walt Disney Company, CEO and later President. (Roy E. Disney was his son) "This is a copy of the first Mickey Mouse Book published. Text by Bob Wildhack and illustrations by Charles Phillips. Marilyn, this is a keepsake. Love & Best Wishes Roy Disney". This is remarkable because neither the writer or illustrator are credited in the book. This may be one of the few records of their names. Disney has signed in green steel point fountain pen ink. Anything from him is tough to find. A must for serious collectors of Disneyana. Estimated Value $600 - 1,000
