US Statesmen: Signed, Vintage, Double Weight Silver Nitrate Portraits of H. Hoover, Al Smith, D. Acheson, A. Stevenson and J. Snyder. Exceptional collection of fine vintage portrait photographs all signed with three having inscriptions. 1.) Herbert Hoover. President from 1929-1933, has signed his name in black fountain pen ink across the lightest part of his jacket in this lovely sepia toned portrait photograph 9 x 7", likely trimmed for publication from an 8 x 10". 2.) Superb sepia toned, 8 x 10" portrait of Alfred "Al" Smith boldly signed by the four-time Governor of New York and national figure for 30+ years. 3.) Signed, inscribed and dated (1963) 8 x 10" photo by the much admired Adlai Stevenson former Governor of Illinois and served on the committee to form the United Nations and later appointed as US Ambassador to the UN by Kennedy. 4.) Striking, double-weight premium portrait photo of Dean Acheson one of the most central and influential of Truman's cabinet as Secretary of State. He defined American foreign policy during the Cold War, architect of the Marshall Plan, a key player in the development of the Truman Doctrine and creation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. 13 x 10" silver nitrate print beautifully inscribed and signed in blue fountain pen ink to Thomas K. Finletter, Permanent Representative to NATO from 1961-65. 5.) Also inscribed and signed to Thomas K. Finletter is a beautiful 13 x 10" silver nitrate print by John W. Snyder, US Secretary of the Treasurer under Truman.

Pierre Salinger, former Senator, former White House Press Secretary to Kennedy and Johnson, and an award winning journalist and reporter. A Tribute to John F. Kennedy Encyclopedia Britannica, Chicago (1964) Collection of tributes by an array of politicians and notables, edited into this collection by Pierre Salinger and Sander Vanocur. Slip cased edition with multiple signatures including Pierre Salinger, Nancy Salinger, David Brinkley and Peter Lawford. Appears never to have been read and in near mint condition. Also includes a TLS by Pierre Salinger gifting this volume. 2.) Colin Powell, An American Journey 2.) Colin Powell, retired four-star general in the United States Army. During his military career, Powell also served as National Security Advisor, as Commander of the U.S. Army Forces Command and as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Signed edition of his autobiography An American Journal in superior condition. 3. Dan Quayle, former Vice-President, and critic of "Murphy Brown" signed edition of Standing Firm his Vice-Presidential memoir in very fine condition. Estimated Value $100 - 200
