15 Extremely Rare Photo Postcards of Early Aviation, Dirigibles and Pilots Including One of the Wright Brothers Plane. 15 rare photo postcards for every level of collector of early aviation, including pilots and WWI. Many of these cards came from France, about half have been stamped and addressed and are overall in good to very good condition. There are six regarding dirigibles including the Le "Jaune" dirigible in flight by Chalais-Meudon, and another while docked in hanger also called the Le Dirigeable LeBaudy' and the large funeral procession of victims in a dirigible crash held in Versailles. For aviation a shot of "I'Aéroplane Wright", a stunning near pristine post card of a WWI German plane plummeting from the skies after being hit, Aug. 22, 1977 (both cards very important), images of Douglas Corrigan, and several French designers with their planes.

Wide Assortment of NASA Limited-Distributed Souvenirs and Commercial Space Race Items. Included in the NASA sovenirs are nearly 50 different souvenirs with special-issued medallions, pins, decal stickers, cloth patches, keyrings (one in a special box), postcards, coin-medls and more. As far as the commercial items there are three dozen postal space covers from 2009 to current day (2021) in commemoration of the major crew-related space programs, such as Ares 1-X, NASA's Orion, Boeing's CST-100/Starliner and all major SpaceX Crew Dragon developmental and actual crewd spaceflights to date. Also included are two dozen other items; official cloth patches, decal stickers, cards, bookmarks, and other NASA and aerospace company educational literature from Ares to Crew-2. Vintage Missile and Rocket Photos. Well-over 50 different 8x10 glossy photos of missiles and rockets of all types by the US Air Force, NASA, Martin Marietta, and the US Army launched at the Cape Canaveral firing range during the late 1950's to the early 2000's.

Some of the early rockets flown included in the grouping are the Atlas, Jupiter, Thor, Polaris, and Blue Scout. Other original photos include the Titan launch vehicle family, Atlas-Agena, Delta, Atlas-Centaur, Poseidon, early and later Pershing missiles, Delta II, Commercial Titan, and Atlas-2. A great assembly; all in good condition with many on-pad scenes and launch views in color and b/w photographs. A few additional photos included with some flaws.

Early Rocketry: Flown V-2 Fragment Test Fired at White Sands (1946), Atlas Aegena Missile Fragments and Teletype from JPL Mariner. 3 relics from the early days of Rocketry. 1.) Certainly the most historic is a fragment from a German V-2 Rocket in 1946 In the aftermath of the war, the United States launched Operation Paperclip, a secret program that successfully recruited German scientists and engineers (most prominently Wernher von Braun) to work for the American military, and transported 100 captured V-2 rockets to the recently established White Sands Missile Range. Between 1946 and 1951, the Army fired 67 V-2 rockets from this site. This fragment was legally removed from a tail fin while on display in Las Cruces. COA by Ken Havekotte. 2.) A keychain and tie-tack made from the shell of an Atlas Agena Missile. 3.) Teletype print out from JPL during Mariner Mission with a fantastic vintage original photo from August, 1962. Apollo Era Artifacts with One Flown on ASTP: Beta Cloth, Kapton Foil. Three nicely presented Apollo era artifacts all mounted on informative LOas. 1.) Flown segment of Kapton foil removed from heat shield of the ASTP Command Module #111 which flew 136 orbits around the Earth from July 15-24, the historic high point of course being the docking with the Soviet Union Soyuz spacecraft, authenticated by Ken Havekotte. Also included are two First Day covers, one Russian the other American each postmarked July 15, 1975 as well as each country's insignia stickers. 2.) Several samples of Apollo Lunar Module Kapton Thermal Blanket affixed to a very informative LOA which explains its use on the Lunar Module which provided protection from the extremes in heat and cold during the descent and ascent, authenticated by Ken Havekotte. 3.) An uncut Beta cloth sheet measuring 11" x 11" of 4 Apollo 11 Mission Variant (without the Apollo 11 lettering) Beta patches made for NASA in collaboration by Owens Corning, Dupont and Screen Print Corp. Prints are clean with only the black printing a bit off center and come with an LOA.

Due to the tragedy of Apollo 1, NASA focused on making conditions safer for its crews and as a result a fireproof fabric (Beta cloth) created by Owens Corning and Dupont was to be used for the A7L spacesuits and patches among other items. While the Beta cloth was produced by Owens Corning and Dupont the screen printing needed to create the mission patches was outsourced to Screen Print Corp. Estimated Value $250 - UP
