Rare Collection of 18 Original Dedication Brochures, Histories & Ephemera of Landmark Bridges: The Brooklyn Bridge, The Bay Bridge & Much More. Outstanding collection of rare publications, histories and other ephemera of landmark US bridges. Included in the collection is the original hard bound book published in 1885 by the Government Printing office on the Dedication of the Washington Monument. Book is inscribed to Hon. Joseph Williamson by Horatio King, former Postmaster General. King took an active part in the work of completing the Washington Monument, serving as secretary of the Monument Society from 1881 and like Williamson, both with significant ties to the state of Maine. Fine to Very Fine condition.

Also included is the George Washington Bridge dedication brochure over the Hudson River between New York and New Jersey on October 24, 1931, 50th Anniversary (1883-1993) commemorative booklet of The Brooklyn Bridge, Lancaster-York Intercounty Bridge, Davitt Memorial Bridge (1931), a very impressive dedication program of the San Francisico-Oakland Bay Bridge, dedication program of the Calvin Coolidge Memorial (1939), beautiful dedication day brochure for the Lions Gate Bridge in Vancouver (1939) The Ambassador Bridge (1930), The Tunkhannock Viaduct Railroad Bride (Post-1915) Tacoma Narrows Bridge (1940) Picture History of the Mackinac Bridge and more. Further there are specific books on other feats of engineering including The Woolworth Building and a 1931 publication of the Boulder Dam which also contain early photos of Las Vegas.

Completing the collection is an exceptionally rare steel engraving plate by Harry Bailey of Eads Bridge (ca. 1900) and an outstanding vintage original, 19th Century photo. Also included are vintage benchmarks from the USS Geological Survey. An outstanding collection for a wide variety of interests: US History, Construction, Design and Americana, with many of these publications and pieces very scarce. Estimated Value $300 - 500

British Architectural Relics, Stone and Bricks from Parliament, Granite from London Bridge and Funeral Service Program for Queen Victoria (1901). British Relics From the House of Parliament, London Bridge, Tower Bridge, and Melrose Abbey. Two pieces of stone and an ashtray made from stone with medallions affixed saying, "This Stone Came From the Houses of Parliament. The larger piece is 6" (15.24cm") in length, 4.3" (10.922cm) wide, and 2" (5.08cm) high; the second stone is not quite as long but is 2.5" (6.35cm) high. The ashtray is 4.5" (11.43cm) in diameter. A piece of granite from the Old London Bridge, London, England has been made into a pen holder (pens missing). A charming wood box "Made of Wood Grown on the Lands of Abbotsford" has a vignette of Melrose Abbey on the top, with Kelso Abbey and the town of Melrose on each side; it is 2.5" tall (6.35cm) and the top is 3" (7.62cm) in diameter. From the Royal Mint, a Centenary Medal, 2.5" (6.35cm), commemorating the one hundredth anniversary of the Tower Bridge (1894-1994).

Also included is a scarce funeral service program from February 2nd, 1901 of Queen Victoria held on the day of her burial. Estimated Value $150 - 300
