Republic of Texas $100 Government Bond. A Republic of Texas, at the time an Independent and Sovereign territory by the US and other world countries. The Republic issued $100 and $500 bonds distinguished by fine engravings of cattle, a steamship and the lone star. Ten coupons remain attached to the bond certificate dated Feb. 5th 1840. In superior condition, we note only some border trimming and of course the bleed through from the endorsements on verso due to the oxidation of iron gall ink commonly used during the time.
