1909. VDB. PCGS graded Proof 66 Red & Brown. CAC. PQ. Lovely red colors and one of the nicest examples of this sought after Proof to cross our desks in memory. The surfaces are virtually untouched by the usual problems that so often impair these early proof Lincoln cents. Not so here, as the surfaces remain mint fresh and the only sign of age is the gentle mellowing of the color over the past 112 years. Of course the V.D.B. proofs were only struck in 1909, and were the first group coined on this new design, and thus are highly sought after today. Well struck and quite nice. This is one of the most challenging and expensive Lincoln cents produced in proof. Only 1,194 struck. Pop 12; 2 finer for Red & Brown, 1 in 67, 1 in 67+. (PCGS # 3301) Estimated Value $25,000 - UP
