Lot 1070
1900 Lafayette Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65+. CAC. Nicely toned on both sides with soft tinges of silver gray intermixed with bright light sliver and gold, which dominate both sides. This is one of the earliest of the Classic Commemoratives and the only dollar sized coin struck for that group. The original issue was generally scattered to mostly non numismatic holders, so precious few gems exist today due to normal handling. Hence, when a radiant gem shows up like this, it draws our attention. This coin is absolutely incredible and worthy of any advanced collection. Only 36,026 struck (PCGS # 9222) Estimated Value $5,000 - UP
