John Glenn Collection of 10 Signed Pieces Plus 10 Additional Autographs of Parents Of Early Astronauts including the Glenns & Armstrongs. A John Glenn collection of 10 signed pieces. There is one scarce signature on back of a business card of an AT&T executive where he has signed "JH Glenn Jr." in fountain pen ink. The other nine pieces were likely signed during his Senate years, an 8 x 10", B&W portrait in coat and tie at desk, two photos lifted from full pages in NY Magazine, 4 signed covers with one a First Day Issue of the 4¢ Project Mercury stamp, a signed in the margins 32 stamp sheet of Project Mercury stamps, and a double plate block of the 5¢ commemorative of the First Walk in Space. Also included is a cover signed by Glenn's beloved wife, Annie Glenn, and another cover signed by his parents John H. Glenn Sr. Clara Glenn and by John Glenn himself on a First Day Issue Project Mercury cover and stamp. Finally a signed cover of his 1962 LIFE Magazine and two pages lifted from the issue.

This collection has numerous other covers signed by the parents/wives of other astronauts including Stephen K. Armstrong and Mrs. Stephen K. Armstrong parents to Neil Armstrong (the father's signature very much inform's that of his son's), a cover by Hattie Cooper mother of Gordon Cooper as well as Orena Herd, his grandmother and finally a cover signed by Andrew Cernan & Mrs. Andrew Cernan, Mr. and Mrs. James A. McDivitt Sr. Dr. Marion Scott Carpenter mother to Scott, Mary E. Stafford mother to Tom, and Blanche Lovell mother of Jim Lovell and played by Ron Howard's mother in Apollo 13. John Glenn, Mercury 6, 2/20/1962, Scott Carpenter, Mercury 7, May 24, 1962, Walter Schirra, Mercury 8, October 3, 1962 and Gordon Cooper, Mercury 9, May 16-17
Four separately published overviews of the first four manned orbital space flights. All having photos and remarkably detailed research on every level of operations and mission successes. Goldberg Auctions have not offered these volumes in years. They were all prepared by NASA and provide details and observations that intrigue today. All four are in excellent condition. Mercury 6 is just over 200 pages, Mercury 7-8 volumes just over 100 pages and Mercury 9 is included in a summary of all of Project Mercury totaling over 400 pages.

Six Geologic Maps of the Moon 1965-1972: Riphaeus Mountain Region, Maskelyne DA Region, Lansberg P. Region, Clavius Quadrangle, Tycho Quadrangle and the Aristoteles Quadrangle. All are in their original Department of the Interior sleeves and in excellent condition with only the Riphaeus Mountain Region map having highlighter notations. Estimated Value $600 - UP

Rare Album Of Mercury Redstone 1A On Board Film Prints Owned By Dick Underwood. Album of 10x8 photos taken by the on board 70MM sky camera of Mercury Redstone 1A which launched December 19, 1960. A total of 168 photos each numbered in pencil on the verso are in overall great condition with some signs of handling present. Comes with LOA from Underwood family. Estimated Value $400 - UP

Metal or Aluminum Alloy Mercury Capsule, ca. Early 1960s. Metal or aluminum alloy miniature Mercury capsule 3 x 2 x 2" very well made and highly polished, many have theorized as wind tunnel models and such, but nothing definitive. Capsule boasts quite a shine, but there are scratches and discoloration throughout. Nevertheless a very curious and appealing piece with others like it having found their way into collections of every level. Estimated Value $200 - UP
