Apollo 10

Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 896
Two Apollo 10 and Two Apollo 11 Artifacts; Lunar Map, Pair of 70mm Transparencies and Two Apollo XI Insignias on Beta Cloth. Apollo X is commonly referred to as the "dress rehearsal" for Apollo XI. But to their credit, the full crew of Apollo X; Gene Cernan, Tom Stafford and John Young are the only ones to all fly on another Apollo mission each making their mark in history. From Apollo X, Lunar Photography Index, a map with areas color coded to reflect which 70 mm magazines to be used and one for 16 mm. Complimenting the lunar index are two original NASA 70mm transparencies of exposed black-and-white film during Apollo 10's lunar orbital photographic operations. The two 70mm film strips were not the ones flown, but produced by NASA shortly after the mission. Presentation COA is signed by Tom Stafford. Also included is an Apollo X cover postmarked May 18, 1969 from Cape Canaveral, the day of the launch and a cocktail napkin. From Apollo XI, two panels of Beta Cloth each with Apollo 11 insignia developed by Owens Corning Fiberglas and printed with Roma Questral Space Age Pigments. Note: one does have staining. Estimated Value $350 - UP
