Vintage Original, Thematic Apperception Test Set (1943) by Henry Murray, MD and the Staff of the Harvard Psychological Clinic, Very Scarce. Two Landmark Medical Publications: "Pyschodiagnostics; Original Rorschach Test Cards, 1921 and "Mortuary Science", Scarce First Edition, Signed. 1.) The Rorschach test is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation, complex algorithms, or both. Some psychologists use this test to examine a person's personality characteristics and emotional functioning. This system was created by Hermann Rorschach in 1921 and offered is a Vintage Original Set. Distributed by Grune & Stratton, Inc., New York and published by Hans Huber, Bern and printed in Switzerland. Each card on verso has printing and distribution information and copyright of 1921. Folio that contains cards has label affixed to cover of folio from Grune & Stratton partially obscuring the label by the German medical publisher. Cards are in superior condition and exhibit very little toning given their nearly 100 years in age. Each card measures 7¼ x 9½" and have now become very popular to frame and exhibit. 2.) Original 1961 First Edition of Mortuary Science inscribed and signed by author, Frederick C. Gale. From Charles C. Thomas Publisher, Springfield, Illinois, this examination of mortuary sciences actually became a widely read book by the general public. The book is still in publication today and remains a fascinating look into the art and science behind preparing a body in the modern era. Both dust jacket and book in very fine condition. Inscribed and signed on loose end paper "1/30/61 To Arnold and Myra Scheibel, Many many thanks for your confidence and encouragement Frederick Gale." Estimated Value $500 - UP

WWI Antique Prosthetic Arm, Perfect Steampunk Aesthetic, Scarce. Prosthetics have come a long way from the wooden big toe found on a a 3000-year-old mummy, the ancient Etruscan bridgework made of animal teeth, a pirate's peg leg, to Danish astronomer, Tycho Brahe's gold nose, his original lost in a sword fight. Fast forward to the late 1800s to early 1900s, and a variety of custom designed limbs from France and Switzerland found their way to market made in combinations of wood, metal, and leather. Controlled by cables, gears, cranks, and springs, these limbs could be rotated and bent hence their immensely appealing steampunk aesthetic. These fantastic objects were ahead of their time: cable control was a precursor to the standard post-World War II design. Hunter Oatman-Standard of Collector's Weekly writes; "There is something beautiful about prosthetic limbs, designed to echo the physical grace and mechanical engineering of the human body … The function of a prosthetic limb—to replace a part of the human body—will always endow it with a certain magic few other man-made objects possess." Offered is a vintage original prosthetic WWI era left articulated arm in remarkable condition with cables, straps, fittings and spring locking mechanism. A marvel of design and all element operating. Also these have become intriguing display pieces in any number of settings and welcome additions in libraries and museums. Estimated Value $500 - UP
