Buck Rogers Collection: 11 Cast Iron TootsieToys, 3 Die Cast Figures w/Booklet, And. TootsieToys were immensely popular toys pre-WWII and were simple diecast metal (zinc allow, tin, lead) toys. They produced small pieces for Cracker-Jacks, and made the game pieces for Monopoly. But one of their most successful line of toys was for the comic series and film serials of Buck Rogers. These began in the late 1930s and sold individually or in sets. Collection of 11 of these collectible diecast TootsieToys: 3 Flash Blast Attack Ships, 3 Venus Duo Destroyers, 4 Battle Cruisers. Also included are three lead cast figures: Buck Rogers, Wilma and Killer Kane very nicely hand painted. Remarkably one could buy these moulds and cast your own lead figures from Rappaport Bros. and their original pamphlet is included. Finally from British illustrator Jack Follows an excellent collection of 6 Buck Rogers hand painted covers and one Flash Gordon that are indeed fantastic, colorful and original works of art celebrating this early 20th Century adventure comics. From February 1988 by Marvel, Amazing Spider-Man Issue #297 I'll Take Manhattan!" Part 2 of 2. Script by David Michelinie. Pencils by Alex Saviuk. Inks by Vince Colletta. Cover by Alex Saviuk and Jack Abel. Two original panels with one featuring a thrilling fight between Doc Ock and Spider-Man with the lower right panel almost mirroring the cover. The second is Spider-Man assessing the fight, possibly that people might think less of him and realizes he can "take yourself a bow, Peter Parker….I think you just became an adult". Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9¾ x 15". Crumb, Robert Dennis: Four Signed Lithographs (1943-) Beloved and influential comic book artist and illustrator who contributed some of the most iconic works of the "underground comix" era of the 1960s such as Fritz the Cat and Mr. Invisible. A friend of comic book writer Harvey Pekar, Crumb illustrated over 30 stories of Pekar's in the award-winning comic book series "American Splendor," and whose life was memorably brought to the screen in the film by the same name. Signing his work as R. Crumb, he has illustrated album art to date 17 times. He also illustrated the cover art for Jonathan Shaw's celebrated memoir, "Scab Vendor: Confessions of a Tattoo Artist.

Eldon Dedini; Original Illustration for New Yorker Magazine, Inscribed, Signed and Gifted to Political Stand Up Comedian, Mort Sahl. Original New Yorker Magazine panel by celebrated illustratror, Eldon Dedini (1921-2006) whose single panel cartoons appeared in Esquire, Playboy and New Yorker Magazine and are now very prized and collected. Oversized, original illustration 17 x 13" in wax pencil, ink and gouache of two politicians in the shadow of the Capitol Building fretting over what Mort Sahl might say. Sahl was one of the most brilliant political stand-up comedians and satirists of the 20th Century achieving great acclaim in the 1960s. Further this illustration was then gifted to Mort Sahl by Dedini who inscribed and signed "To Mort Sahl who watches over us all….My Best Wishes, Eldon Dedini." 22 Vintage Original Illustrated Single Panel Humorous Cartoons (Most On Boards) Including Ted Sally, Drucker, Bruce Day and more. Fun collection of original illustrations for single panel cartoons. 1.) Five original illustrated panels on board by Ted Sally for his Generation Flap cartoons from the Late 60s-70s frequently targeting "hippies". Four have example of panels as the appeared in newspaper on verso. 2.) A color illustration of a man on a bus claiming destiny brought them togerther. Signed Drucker, but not entirely sure Mort Drucker but fantastic art none the less.) Hilarious 1960s era pen and ink drawing by Bruce Day of taking a bit too much off the top. Large panel 11 x 15" and illustrated on Strathmore paper 2.) Clearly early, a color panel in gouache and colors of a man trying to get a patent on clearly a faulty item, signed by artist at lower right. 9 x 7" 2.) 3.) Nicely illustrated panel by Gerry Moore, where a father is in for a big surprise with the arrival of quadruplets 15 x 10. 4.) Three mid-Century illustrations by popular illustrator Barritt, very much in the style and gentle humor of the time; two women golfing one having beaned a male player, likely her husband with a golf ball, another a chimp being turned down for a loan to build a tree house and two armored car drivers realizing they have been robbed by a can opener. 7x 7" to 8 x 5" 5.) Charming and very colorful watercolor and gouache of a "baby" matador and dad playing the bull with horns tied onto his head by artist/illustrator, Vindioala. This may also have been used for a greeting card. 12 x 9". 6.) Two hand drawn sketches from the early 60s that may have been illustrated for personal friends. 12 x 9" Each one very suitable for display. 7.) Two illustrated sheets, each with two panels by an artist named Mills (with windmill drawn above name) One for "Shelock Homes" and the other "The Pirates of Pinpants". The Tangerine Bear was a children's story book by Betty Paraskevas, whose son, Michael illustrated the story. In 2000, the story was animated for a television special that drew great acclaim and became a favorite for young millennials. Offered are three story boards with the illustrator/animator Michael Paraskevas signing at bottom right which include Tangie (the tangerine bear) Jack (the claustrophobic jack-in-the-box), Bird and Virgil the dog. Collection of signed independent comic books from False Publishing, Hurricane and others. The best item in the lot is an original illustration by Tony Carlson on card stock 10 x 7 of a bad-ass character executed in colors and gouache. With the illustration comes a mint edition of "Random" #1 illustrated by Tony Carlson and Jason Van Winkle and quite a collected edition alone. Also included is the complete set of 4 Snake Plissken Chronicles all signed by William O'Neill as well as a signed edition of Violent Messiahs. Rounding out the collection is a signed and matted lithograph from "Lethal Strike" signed by Jude Millien, and Evan Hartsoe, first issue of Future Shock signed by T. Collection of 40+ Original Illustrations of Political/Editorial Single Panel Cartoons from 1950s to 1970s; Many as Relevant Today as Then. Fantastic collection of original hand drawn political/editorial cartoons spanning the 1950s to Nixon. 1.) The most impressive is one from Henry "Hank" Barrow (1905-1985) multi-award winning editorial cartoonist for the World Herald. From the early 1960s a fantastic image of Fidel Castro with a fumigator being asked if he is spreading Communism according to "El Beejay" (LBJ) 16 x 13" in pencil and ink. At lower left Barrow has inscribed and signed panel to States Thompkins. 2.) One single panel humor by Art Gates regarding solar energy and 2 by Ficklen's "Out Of Orbit" series on space travel. 3.) Large panel by Art Wood on politicians broken promises. 4.) 30 original illustrations, predominantly from the 1950s and these amaze in that a great majority of the topics and themes are as important today as they were 70 years ago. These are elaborately illustrated panels on 12 x 9" card stock clearly from the same illustrator/cartoonist. But as they are unsigned and the work similar to several other illustrators, we don't want to guess. But they are all witty, some quite devastating and many could be published today because some things never change, especially in American Politics. Dave Berg Original Illustrated Color Art for MAD Follies #7 - MAD's Nasty Greeting Cards - "To a Status Seeker" (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Fantastic Dave Berg original illustration in auction which he executed in color. This particular illustration 10 x 7¼" and was part of a series of "nasty" greeting cards by several classic MAD magazine artists. The text for all the cards were written by Frank Jacobs and read as follows in the Mad Follies #7: To A Status Seeker. You brag about your car, your clothes / The liquor on your shelf / I understand the reason why / Your nothing by yourself!" Berg's illustration compliments the limerick perfectly. MAD Magazine Original Illustrated Panel 4: "The Lighter Side of Summer Hazards" by 50 Year Veteran of MAD, Dave Berg (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Single panel, 24½ x 18½", with three funny strips including one featuring William Gaines: Top strip is a husband going over expenses and realizing it best not to go on vacation. The wife pulls a clever twist about putting in a pool and new lawn furniture with the money saved resulting in the husband conceding by stating to go on vacation to economize. Center strip is the frustration of having a house fly buzzing around Dave Berg look alike destroying his bed trying to kill it then proclaiming he can now sleep. MAD Magazine Original Illustrated Panel 4: "The Lighter Side of Junior High School" by 50 Year Veteran of MAD, Dave Berg (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Single panel, 25 x 18½", with four funny strips which while this panel was created in 1966, not much has changed at all: Top strip is a mother and son clashing over grades when ultimately both realize they are at fault. Second strip is your typical teen daughter having classmates over for a visit and worrying the parents are going to say something "stupid" which somehow includes "How do you do?" Third panel is actually Dave Berg illustrating himself and his son where he complains about his son's dress to school conforming to how his classmates dress but dressing for work in a suit to conform with the office, why isn't that same? Fourth panel is a teen's first pair of high heels and the parents become depressed at how old they have gotten. Excellent condition signed Berg, 1966 (one of the older panels here) Page 4. MAD Magazine Original Illustrated Panel 5: "The Lighter Side of Hot Weather" by 50 Year Veteran of MAD, Dave Berg (1920-2002) Beloved American illustrator and cartoonist known for his celebrated career at MAD magazine after contributing to several comic books in the 1940s including two years with Stan Lee at Timely Comics (now known as Marvel Comics.) Berg contributed to Mad for 46 years beginning in 1957 until his death, appearing in 368 issues. Single panel, 24½ x 18½", with three funny strips: Top strip centers around the notorious Shell No-Pest Strips which turned out to actually rain harmful chemicals onto surfaces and the air in a room in the 1970s. But this was prior, making fun of how ugly they were gold foil cardboard and all. Here the joke is they were so ugly that's why they repelled flies. Center panel is a daughter tell her mother how muggy the previous night was filled with biting bugs until she met a guy and it was the greatest night of her life. Lower panel show a couple talking about the beastly heat and evidently triggered when someone mentions "humidity". Excellent condition signed Berg, 1974 Page 5. Estimated Value $400 - UP

Single panel, 24½ x 18½", with three funny strips: Top strip is husband returning from work drenched begging for sympathy from the wife due to the heat, but when a call for tennis come, ready for action. Center strip remains very timely regarding warnings from a radio news bulletin that the electric grid experiencing overload and possible blackouts due to appliance including A/C and recommending all appliances be shut off including the radio only to say stay tuned. Lower strip are old folks under an umbrella thinking the young people are dancing no realizing the sand is so hot it's burning their feet.
