  Hermon Atkins MacNeil Family Archive. Hermon Atkins MacNeil, famed designer of the "Standing Liberty Quarter" issued 1916-1930 considered a masterpiece in American coin design. Hermon W. Pratt (July 20, 1845 - May 2, 1918) Mass. Civic and Business Leader, financed MacNeil's studies at the famed Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris; Caleb S. Pratt (1832-1861) the primary person involved in Bleeding Kansas (Kansas town of Pratt named in his honor; Henry Mitchell (1835-1908), Boston, Mass. Noted 19th and early 20th century American engraver for the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing and in private practice.

An archive of family related material: Numerous hand drawings of homes, maps, etc.; Herman Pratt's beautifully written diary of 1863-1865; Hardbound book "Seven Generations a story of Prattville and Chelsea" by Walter Merriam Pratt, 1930; 6" Sterling Silver Bowl with Pratt Family Crest in relief, weight: 4.7 ozt; Photos, etchings etc; Bronze square medal Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Award; Pair of Steel Dies with crest and coat of arms; Hermon A. MacNeil ALS one page written to Walter Pratt Nov. 8, 1909 on family matters; "The Twelve Days of Christmas" beautifully written Dec. 6, 1828 by Caleb Pratt to Ralph Pratt, in period wooden frame; Fantastic Family Photo Album with cartes de visites, many with notes and two of Hermon A.
