Lot 743
1911-D/D. FS-501. NGC graded MS-67. Absolutely incredible surfaces with nary a tiny nick or bagmark to be found. The surfaces are simply stunning! Bathed in rich mint luster, with the desirable greenish gold tinges as well as coppery originality. Well struck with near perfect fields. The D/D mintmark blunder is not particularly rare, but in this lofty grade this one is definitely one of the finest known and worthy of the most advanced collection. Pop 4; tied for the finest examples graded at both services for the variety. (PCGS # 9157) Estimated Value $25,000 - UP

Lot 744
1911-D. PCGS graded MS-67. This is one of the absolute finest known of this early Denver issue of the Saint-Gaudens double eagles. The strike is sharp and complete, and the color is the classic orange-gold with tinges of greenish luster familiar to those who have seen a lot of gold coming out of Europe. Lovely rich golden toning. A very nice example that will please any specialist of the series. Superb! Pop 10; 2 finer in 67+. (PCGS # 9158) Estimated Value $40,000 - UP

Lot 745
1925-S. NGC graded MS-63. This is a rare date today, and like most of the mintmarked gold coins on the 1920s virtually the entire mintage was melted in the post 1933 era. Here is one of the nicer ones to cross our desks, with ample mint luster, a solid strike and clean surfaces. Both sides are quite frosty. So ignore the 3,776,500 pieces mintage of this date and mint and realize that fewer than 1,000 still exist today. Here is a delightful example at the mid grade of Mint State pieces at the Choice grade level.Pop 32; 24 finer at NGC. (PCGS # 9182) Estimated Value $9,000 - 10,000
