1803. Small reverse stars, BD-3, T-29, Rarity 4. NGC graded MS-63. Amazing quality for such an early Capped Bust, Heraldic Eagle gold $10 coin, with all the satiny freshness one could hope to find, as well as enticingly bold striking. The fields and devices are rather free of any handling issues, even adjustment marks are nowhere to be found. Quite a treat on these large early gold pieces! The eye appeal is quite high, and this is one of the finer examples of this date--and type--to survive. If you demand top quality and bold visual appeal, then look no further than this gorgeous piece! Lightly toned.

Historically in 1803 the Louisiana Purchase was completed, massively increasing the size of this still small and developing country. This transaction was incredibly historic, and signed off by then President Thomas Jefferson. The intrepid explorers Lewis and Clark were tasked with seeing just what was purchased, and their journies through these still wild lands inspired countless adventurers to follow in their footsteps. When holding this gorgeous coin, think of the history that it represents, as this is only one of many historical events that took place in 1803. Only 15,017 struck. Pop 6; 1 finer in 64 Star. (PCGS # 8565) Estimated Value $50,000 - UP
