1882. NGC graded Proof 67 Cameo. Boldly struck and a fully white gem cameo proof, and this is one of the absolute finest known today. The fields are sparkling and bright, while the frosty devices show unbroken purity as imparted by the mint dies. A most elegant example of this issue, with fantastic, unending eye appeal. No signs of toning here, and this coin looks just about the same as it did when struck 138 years ago. Only 1,100 struck. Pop 7; 5 finer for Proof Cameo, 1 in 67 Star, 3 in 68, 1 in 68+ Star. 1882-O. PCGS graded MS-65 Deep Mirror Prooflike. Well struck with nice mirror fields which are highly reflective and deep in their nature. Only a small number of coins struck each year might offer the deep mirror reflectivity. The color is classic white with the falling away reflectivity in the fields. What really makes this coin special is the gem quality of the surfaces, as the delicate mirror fields are usually peppered with bagmarks, no so here, thus the eye appeal and technical grade are truly high and well deserved. Pop 29; 1 finer in 66 for DMPL. (PCGS # 97137) Estimated Value $3,000 - UP

1883-O. PCGS graded MS-66 Deep Mirror Prooflike. Mostly white with mint fresh surfaces and amazing quality. The bold deep mirror fields are pristine, unheard of quality for the Deep Mirror reflectivity, as even the briefest time in a mint bag causes far more ticks than found here. Simply stunning quality and highly desirable for the collector who demands bold visual appeal and exceptional eye appeal. Pop 25; 2 finer in 66+ at PCGS for DMPL. 1884. PCGS graded MS-65 Deep Mirror Prooflike. CAC. PQ. Blazing reflectivity in the deep mirror surfaces which seem to fall away from the amazingly frosted devices. Scarce in gem condition with the full depth of reflectivity here, and the surfaces are quite nice with just a few light bag scuffs. Gorgeous quality! An impressive coin to represent this issue and a condition rarity with this degree of contrast. Pop 37; 11 finer for DMPL. 2 in 65+, 9 in 66. (PCGS # 97151) Estimated Value $3,500 - UP

1884-S. PCGS graded MS-63. CAC. PQ. Sure looks a point finer than the given grade. Careful study recommended. This is an incredibly challenging date to find in any mint state grade. For whatever reason virtually the entire mintage of 1884-S silver dollars entered circulation, and most stayed there a very long time. Even finding AU-55 or AU-58 coins is tough! The precious few true mint state coins are in extreme demand due to their rarity. In choice grades as seen here only the hearty and perfectly preserved examples are awarded such a lofty grade from PCGS, and when one examines the surfaces it is logical to expect a higher technical grade. Perhaps it will come to pass. The surfaces are far nicer than any "choice" example of even a rare date and mint. View it and discern for yourself. Pop 53; 21 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 7156) Estimated Value $40,000 - UP

1889-CC. PCGS graded VF-20. Popular key date that has natural steel gray color and wear. 1890-O. NGC graded MS-66 Prooflike. CAC. PQ. Well struck and fully white with boldly reflective fields and frosted devices. The surfaces are immaculate, with nary a nick or a tick to be found. While Prooflike Morgans hardly elicite a raised eyebrow among the collecting crowd, the same people stand up and cheer when a prooflike coin pops up in MS-66 as the surfaces are remarkably clean and the eye appeal with the bold mirror fields is simply amazing to behold. The surfaces truly make the coin here, with the delicate mirrors so well preserved and pleasing to examine. A most challenging combination to find, especially so for the 1890-O, and tied with one other as the finest seen of the prooflike designation. Pop 2; tied for the finest MSPL examples graded at both services. (PCGS # 7201) Estimated Value $12,000 - UP
