Lot 227
1806 B-9, Rarity 1. NGC graded MS-63. This is the latest die state seen on this variety, State d, with the appearance of a die crack across Liberty's bust down the rim, which joins the strong vertical bisecting die crack. Despite this late die state, the strike is generally sharp on Liberty's curls and the eagle. Outstanding surfaces too, as one expects for the Choice grade, but this is quite extraordinary on an early Draped Bust quarter as precious few can claim Mint State status, let alone Choice! Both sides show nice old time toning of antique gold and gray, and no surface distractions. Pop 9; 18 finer at NGC. Estimated Value $8,000 - UP
