1787 Massachusetts Half Cent Ryder 4-C R1 PCGS graded MS65 Brown. Lustrous steel brown and light chocolate with puffs of olive brown toning in the field right of the Indian. Sharply struck and the only defect is a small planchet flake at the Indian's waist (as struck). A premium example of a Massachusetts half cent. PCGS population 7; 5 finer in 66. PCGS #296. (1792-4) Kentucky Cent with Lettered Edge Breen-1156, W-8810 PCGS graded MS63 RED. Lustrous mellowed red fading to light bluish steel with about 70% of the planchet retaining mint color. The only defects are some very tiny planchet fissures in the fields on the obverse (scroll side), but you need a glass to see them. Usual die state for the variety with a fine die crack that meanders through the scroll. Struck with a lettered "LANCASTER" edge, and this feature is noted on the PCGS label. A premium example of this popular copper that was used in Colonial America. PCGS population 9; 42 finer: 34 in 64RD, 8 in 65RD. PCGS #625. Estimated Value $1,000 - UP
