Provenance: Awarded to Timotheos Kuusik. Kuusik (1862/3-1940) was active in Estonian society as an educator, author, translator, literary editor and Tallinn city councilman. He is best known for compiling the first Russian-Estonian dictionary, published in 1903. Kuusik received several Imperial Russian service awards for his contributions to education and the literary arts. From the family of his great-grandson (See lot 3048 for a badge from the same family).
