Five Hand Illustrated Covers Signed by Greats in Philately: Including Arthur Hind and Hugh Massey Clark (Scott Publishing). Wonderful, unique collection of autographs all obtained in the early 1930s, signed on superb hand painted covers by the artist/autograph collector himself. This resulted in a fine collection of notables, writers, sports legends, pilots and entertainers responding to him due to these beautiful miniature works of art that can be found throughout this auction. We highly recommend reviewing these lots because the art on each cover is unique and appealing. Remarkably, the collector built a small collection of legends of early 20th Century philately. Included are: 1.) Hugh Massey Clark, publisher and editor with his wife of the Scott Standard Postage Stamp Catalogue and president of the American Stamp Dealers Association. 2.) Legendary philatelist Arthur Hind 3.) Ernest R. Ackerman, Congressman and renowned philatelist. 4.) George Melville London Philatelic Society 5.) F.A. Spielman sportsman and philatelist. 6.) Ruth and Alvin Hall, models for the 2 cent Arbor Day Stamp. Again fine little collection but of equal note, an invitation to review all of these beautiful covers throughout the auction. Estimated Value $250 - UP
