Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID: Original 2 Layer Production Cel with Hand Painted Background, Pencil Sketch and Cel of Ariel (1992-1994) Walt Disney's THE LITTLE MERMAID was not only one of the most successful animated feature films, but also a hit as an animated television series for CBS. From the television series, a 2 layer painted production cel with a hand painted background. Exceptionally colorful and all three elements in excellent condition. 10½ x 13½" Also included is a pencil sketch of Ariel with Sebastian atop her head, and the painted cel that came from that drawing and is 10 x 8". We do note that Ariel could be centered between the eel and fish production cels when framing and combined would prove very appealing. Bonus: From the same animator, three pencil sketches from the classic Fred & Barney Coco Pebbles superhero commercial where Barney is dressed in mask and wings to sell cereal. Dennis The Menace: Original Illustrated Panel by Marcus Hamilton, 25 Years Illustrating After Hank Ketchum. One of the most consistently published newspaper cartoons from 1951 to present. In the early 1990s creator Hank Ketchum wanted to retire and found Marcus Hamilton to take the reins after a two year mentoring. Offered is a beautiful hand illustrated daily panel by Hamilton dated 1994, North America Syndicate. Panel was donated to a school auction in 1995 and this panel conveys with a handwritten note by Hamilton on a Dennis the Menace note card dated 8-22-95. Panel measures 9½ x 7½ and so exacting and precise in its execution. Peering through a magnifying glass, one notes Hamilton's discrete white-out corrections here and there, otherwise a near flawless illustration and humorous. Superior condition and a find for any collector of original cartoon illustrations. Estimated Value $500 - UP

White leather cover with raised bands and 22 karat gold leaf highlights; pages with gilt edges. Housed in red slipcase. Includes four original, color serigraphs printed on acetate of scenes from the 1937 Walt Disney film on pages 8, 104, 168, and 188. "Classic Daffy" 1989 Warner Bros. Hand-Painted Limited Edition Animation Cel, #341/500. Cel measures 10½" x 12½" in size. With authentication seal from Linda Jones Enterprises in lower right corner. At lower left is the Warner Bros. copyright 1989. With faint original signatures of Tom McKimson and Charles McKimson, and a silk-screened reproduction signature of their brother, the late Robert McKimson, Sr. The background was made using the high quality silk-screen printing technique. The cel is triple matted and framed in a black metal frame to an overall size of 17¼ x 19½". Bob McKimson (1910-1977) was an American animator, illustrator, and director best known for his work on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons from Warner Bros., and later DePatie-Freleng Enterprises. Stan Goldberg, Celebrated Comic Book Artist for "Archie" Marvel and DC & Chic Young "Blondie". Chic Young (1901-1973) created one of the most widely read comic strips of the 20th Century, "Blondie" at one point far exceeding 50 million readers. The strip spawned a series of 28 films from Columbia Pictures between 1938 and 1950. Chic Young was awarded the National Cartoonist Society's Reuben Award in 1948. Offered is a very impressive hand inked panel by Chic Young dated 5/6/57 of the Bumstead household including Dagwood, Blondie, Alexander, Cookie, Daisy and her puppies. Inscribed and signed in Young's fastidious penmanship, panel measures 5 x 16" framed and matted to 9 x 10". Stan Goldberg (1932-2014) enjoyed a long career as a comic book artist working for DC and Marvel Comics. But he is best known for his Archie comics. Offered are three hand illustrated character portraits in pencil and signed in ink by Stan Goldberg. Included are portraits of Archie, Dagwood and a double portrait of Betty and Veronica. Archie is 6 x 6",Dagwood 7 x 6", and Betty/Veronica 8½ x 7". For fans of the hit television series "Riverdale" these are gold. Comes with COA. Estimated Value $200 - UP

All signatures are in red marker. Cathy Guisewite, creator of the comic strip "Cathy," a 1994 sketch of Cathy wishing "Bob" happy birthday. Robb Armstrong, creator of the comic strip "JumpStart," a sketch wishing "Mark" happy birthday from the "JumpStart Crew & Robb Armstrong." Also, a color photo from The Simpsons of Krusty the Clown and his daughter Sophie, signed with the initials "DB"; Drew Barrymore was the voice of Sophie.
