First American V-2 Mailrocket Flight Labels/Stamps, One Block of Four Signed by Wernher Von Braun. Wernher Von Braun (March 23, 1912-June 16, 1977) Offered are two, plate blocks of four, mail rocket stamps/labels with one block signed by German/American aerospace engineer Werner Von Braun, the leading figure in the development of rocket technology in Germany and a pioneer of rocket and space technology in the United States. These labels were originally printed in 1935 and then overprinted in 1946 during the US Army classified V-2 rocket tests in Las Cruces, N.M. Red labels were overprinted in blue ink and blue labels were overprinted in red. Wernher Von Braun has signed just under the red block in blue fountain pen ink in his unmistakable handwriting making these truly rare and remarkable. Joe Kittinger Collection, Legendary Balloonist and Jumper: 20+ Signed Covers Including 2 Limited Edition Issues, 9 Signed Photos (Born 1928) First man to fly faster than the speed of sound in an historic leap of 103,000 feet by parachute from a balloon, a freefall that lasted 4:30. Four signed photos from this staggering accomplishment in 1960, only recently equaled in 2012 by Felix Baumgartner from the Red Bull Stratos, that Kittinger himself was the capsule communicator from Mission Control and mentor. There are four (4) signed photos from this historic jump. Incredibly Kittinger proved a record breaking balloonist aboard the Rosie O'Grady which flew from Caribou, ME to Montenotte, Italy in the world's first solo transatlantic balloon flight in September 1984. 1.) Limited Edition commemorative cover, No. 1118 of 2992. Flown during this famous flight, the cover features a color silk cachet depicting Kittinger's "Balloon of Peace" postmarked at Caribou and Montenotte. Housed in a presentation folder with 1½"x1" fragment from the balloon affixed to descriptive card opposite cover. 2.) Commemorative numbered edition cover exactly the same as the premium presented cover but without the folio and balloon fragment. 3.) 18 signed covers commemorating the historic balloon flight on a variety of covers, some very appealing. 4.) 5 signed photos/portraits of Kittenger. Markham, Beryl, Charles Kingsford Smith, Juan L. Calvo, and Domingo Rosillo. Beryl Markham (1902-1986) British-born Kenyan aviator, horse trainer, and author. On September 4-5, 1936, she became the first person to fly solo, non-stop across the Atlantic from east to west. Signature on a 3x5" card with typed date of her historic flight; slight ink smear to a couple of letters. Sir Charles Kingsford Smith (1897-1935) Pioneer Australian aviator. He made the first trans-Pacific flight from the United States to Australia in 1928; he disappeared near the Bay of Bengal on Nov. 8, 1935. Autograph card with small image signed "C Kingsford Smith." Also, two signatures of Juan L. Calvo, who flew from Manila to Madrid in 1936, and signature of Domingo Rosillo, who, in 1913, became the first person to make a solo flight from the U.S. to Cuba. All but Beryl Markham are attached to a page with brief biographical information and commemorative stamps. Overall toning. Estimated Value $200 - UP

Rare Collection of Hindenburg / American Airlines: 3 Luggage Stickers, Original 1936 Price Brochure, German Photocards of Zeppelins. Rare collection of vintage original Airship Hindenburg/American Airlines ephemera. Three (3) baggage stickers in mint condition. Baggage decals are 5 x 4", from 1936 and feature both images of the Hindenburg airship and an American Airlines Douglas Sleeper Transport when the two companies aligned for air travel. Also included is a very rare 1936 brochure advertising the service that just happens to be signed by the first passenger of the US to Hamburg flight. Finally nine (9) vintage restrike German photo postcards of various Zeppelins. All pieces are in excellent condition and extremely scarce. Estimated Value $900 - UP
