Make sure to view this coin prior to the auction and enjoy its glorious color and quality surfaces. Just graded for the first time. Only 33,183 struck. Pop 54; 62 finer at PCGS. 1806. Round 6. 7 X 6 Stars. PCGS graded UNC Details, Scratch. The mentioned scratch is in the right obverse field. A very choice looking coin with ample luster and a sharp strike. This one was just slightly mishandled at some point in the past, and a shallow scratch appears as mentioned. Always desirable and historic, as not many collectors can afford to own such a coin, especially so in mint condition. Still a nice looking coin. Only 54,417 struck (PCGS # 8089) Estimate Value $4,000 - UP

1839-D. PCGS graded AU Details, Cleaned. Lightly toned with semi reflective fields. This is a tough date, and one of the only appearances of the obverse mintmark on a Liberty gold coin. The bold D resides just over the date. Always popular with collectors. Still a nice coin. Only 18,939 struck (PCGS # 8193) Estimate Value $6,000 - 6,500

1842-D. Small date. PCGS graded AU-53. A nice untoned example. Close scrutiny finds the usual light handling marks on both sides, most of which blend well into the lustrous surfaces. Scarce and deisrable as are all of these early Dahlonega Mint half eagles. Hard to find an example of this date and mint this nice, let alone appreciably finer. Only 37,917 struck. Pop 13; 39 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 8210) Estimate Value $3,500 - 3,600

1883. PCGS graded Proof 66 Deep Cameo. A brilliant proof coin with strong contrast. Only 61 struck, with about 25 to 30 examples estimated to have survived according to PCGS Pop Report. This is one of just four examples yet graded by PCGS to offer the most desirable Deep Cameo contrast, and the second best of the select group. It is important to note that PCGS has graded only a single example with the Cameo designation, and six pieces with the regular Proof format (two of which are lightly circulated!). That gives one the nuts and bolts of the rarity of this issue, again with perhaps just 25 to 30 of these Proofs are really known today, including a few that are impaired. For future pedigree tracing there is a minor speck to the right of the date, and what appears to be a tiny lintmark on Liberty's jaw near her ear lobe. A landmark coin worthy of a record bid for the quality, eye appeal and glorious surfaces. Pop 1; 1 finer in 67+ Deep Cameo. (PCGS # 98478) Estimate Value $70,000 - UP

1904. NGC graded Proof 67+ Cameo. A super well struck Gem Cameo Proof. Examination finds no fault to this nearly perfect coin, with glorious contrast between the frosty devices and mirror fields. The surfaces are virtually perfect in preservation. Fully struck of course, and carefully preserved since its time of issue. This is absolutely one of the finest examples of this elusive proof issue to survive. For identification, and possible pedigree tracking there is a minute tick below the U of UNITED in the field. Only 136 struck. Pop 1; 1 finer in 68 Cameo. (PCGS # 88499) Estimate Value $60,000 - UP

1910-S. PCGS graded MS-64. Lovely golden toning. Well struck mint mark, as well as on all the devices. This is a prized date in high grades, as the mintage of 770,200 pieces was mostly melted in the ensuing gold call in of the 1930s. A few survived in European hoards most likely, as well as being saved from the time of issue. Given that, finding a near gem like this is a formidable undertaking. Radiant mint luster, a few scattered light marks, and glorious eye appeal are the hallmarks of this condition rarity. Don't miss out if you are seeking a high end, highly appealing 1910-S for your collection. Pop 20; 10 finer at PCGS. (PCGS # 8519) Estimate Value $24,000 - 25,000

Most of these 1929 half eagles were melted in the 1930s, and today around 750 are believed to exist. The finest graded stands at MS65, and not many are known at that lofty grade level.
