Lot 1475
1799. Large obverse stars. PCGS graded AU-58. Lots of mint lustre visible and each of the devices are well frosted. A lot of eye appeal as such, as these historic designs are quite attractive when found in high grades like this. The strike is sharp throughout. Clean surfaces, with no signs of adjustment marks or rim bumps that often plague these early gold coins. Seems a little under graded based on the frosty devices, abundant luster and general surface condition (PCGS # 8562) Estimate Value $20,000 - UP

1800. BD-1, Rarity 3. PCGS graded AU-55. PQ. Well struck with lots of mint luster visible. Just graded for the first time. Only 5,999 struck, about 200 to 300 examples estimated to have survived according to PCGS Pop Report. This is one of the finer examples of this rare and popular date. All show die cracks through the peripheral legends, particularly LIBERTY on the obverse. Pop 1; 1 finer in 63+ at PCGS for the variety. Estimate Value $15,000 - 16,000

Lot 1477
1801. PCGS graded EF-40. Some light marks on both sides. Lightly toned with natural orange gold hues. The devices are all sharp and clear, with no deep or detracting marks. The eagle's eye is sharp too, as well as his wing feathers. This is a scarce issue in all grades, and one that has long been a major coin to purchase for generations. Don't miss out if you need an example of this date! Only 44,344 struck, with 650 to 850 examples estimated to have survived by PCGS Pop Report (PCGS # 8564) Estimate Value $12,000 - 13,000

1839. Large letters. NGC graded AU-58. Well struck and untoned. Popular type that was only issued in 1838 and 1839. The surfaces show minimal signs of wear, but moderate handling marks as always seen on these early eagles. Incredible beauty of design, it's too bad these were only issued for two short years. Only 25,801 struck. Pop 25; 5 finer at NGC. Estimate Value $10,000 - UP
