1852 Pattern Gold Dollar. Silver, plain edge, thin planchet. Judd-138. Pollock-165. Low Rarity 7. PCGS graded Proof 65. CAC. Lightly toned. The obverse design is simple and includes the date at the base, and USA above without periods. For the reverse a simple pattern was employed using a small punch with branch, two leaves and two berries, this branch is not connected to any others, but appears seven times on the reverse to make an encircling wreath. Pop 2; tied for the finest examples graded at PCGS. (PCGS # 11583) Estimate Value $11,000 - UP

The obverse is the normal dies used in 1867, while the reverse employs the motto IN GOD WE TRUST in tiny letters at the top, above the open laurel wreath with fruit tied with a ribbon bow at base. Majestic gem proof example exhibiting magnificent iridescent toning on obverse and electric blue on the reverse. The obverse is that of a regular strike Morgan silver dollar. The reverse has a smaller in stature eagle with much broader wings that are open but closely folded. The legends include UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above, and IN GOD WE TRUST just below in smaller letters, with ONE DOLLAR at the base. Pop 1; 2 finer, 1 in 67 RB, 1 in 68 Cameo.
