Capone, Al -- The Gangster's Favorite Photo of Himself. Three-quarter face, black and white portrait of Al Capone, the most famous gangster in American history. It measures 8½ x 6¾ inches. On the reverse is pasted authorship tag of Penguin Photos and the piece has been titled, "AL CAPONE - his favorite pose." Someone has written in green ink, "Authentic Portrait."

Alphonse Gabriel "Al" Capone (1899-1947) was the most notorious gangster in American history. He terrorized and controlled Chicago in his seven-year reign as crime boss, which ended in 1933 when he was jailed for tax evasion, having not declared most of his $50 million per year income. His most enduring "accomplishment" was authoring the "St.Valentine's Day Massacre," February 14, 1929. Estimate Value $250 - UP
