Vintage Original Hand Painted "The Simpsons" Production Cels (3) Cels and Painted Background from 1992. THE SIMPSONS, which began in 1989 is now marking its 30th Season on television. It is the longest-running American sitcom, and the longest-running American scripted primetime television series in terms of seasons and number of episodes. Offered from production 8F 12 "Lisa The Greek" which aired January 23, 1992. The episode was designed to satirize sports gambling and made references both the Super Bowl and the NFL. It aired days before Super Bowl XXVI, and correctly predicted that the Washington Redskins would win the game. Original production is a four (4) layer (three hand-painted cels plus hand-painted background) of Homer and Lisa on the infamous Simpson's couch. Cels measure 10½ x 12½" and has all the production numbers, cel reference numbers punch holes, and 20th Century Fox logo as well as trademark and copyright along the bottom margin(s) Unframed and in excellent condition. ALF The Animated Series: Four (4) Handpainted Cels, "Inscriptions" and Background Art, Colorful and Nicely Matted. ALF: The Animated Series (or ALF on Melmac) actually proved a clever animated twist in that it was a prequel to the popular live action television series. In this series, the action takes place on his home planet with Alf going by his real name, Gordon. The Saturday morning series lasted two seasons on NBC. Offered are four very colorful single layer cels, all featuring ALF with very colorful background art, all beautifully hand painted with hand lettered "inscriptions" All four pieces have been matted and measure 11 x 14" and are in near to mint condition. Hanna-Barbera " Dastardly & Muttley in Their Flying Machines" Production Cel and Five (5) "Flintstones" Handpainted Publicity Cels. Hanna-Barbera animation pieces. First a production cel from "Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines" with background art. This is a great production cel that includes Dick Dastardly, Muttley, Yankee Doodle Pigeon and the Vulture Squadron. Also offered are Five (5) hand painted publicity/limited edition cels. The best is THE FLINTSTONES with Fred in a director's chair. This is a normal publicity cel of Fred in the chair but it has been further enhanced by the artist with a flower behind Fred's ear holding up a lei, all hand painted atop the cel. A very winning piece. Also included is an anniversary cel for Hanna-Barbera including Yogi Bear, Boo Boo and Scooby-Doo, and 3 handpainted cels from Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm (all alike) the later series when they were in their teens. Know, the black outlines onto the acetate is done by transfer through a process called Xerography directly from the artist's original line drawings. However the characters are hand painted and as colorful and beautiful as one could want. This lot consists of three different images and a total of five handpainted cels all in excellent condition Each measure 10½ x 12½ and are unmatted and unframed. Estimate Value $500 - UP

The Smurfs: Three (3) Single Cel and Background, Production Used Set Ups and Two Sets Of Three Publicity Cels. Hanna-Barbera's THE SMURFS animated series, based on the comics by Belgian artist Pierre "Peyo" Culliford, debuted on NBC in September, 1981 and ran continuously until 1990; Offered is a wonderful collection of authentic Hanna-Barbera hand painted cels. The top three are production use single layer cels with outstanding and colorful backgrounds all handpainted. Two unique pieces are two cels, while production used had dialogue boxes added for humor then given as thank you pieces to a well regarded employee. "To Dolores All Best Wishes, Jayne Barbera" (Joe Barbera's daughter) the other "To Dolores, my most wonderful worker, Love Alison" clearly Alison Leopold an ink and paint supervisor and color stylist at Hanna-Barbera. These three cels have give a collector all the Smurfs and Gargamel Complimenting the three production cels are two sets of three publicity cels. Know, the black outlines onto the acetate is done by transfer through a process called Xerography directly from the artist's original line drawings. However the characters are hand painted and as colorful and beautiful as one could want. Mickey & Minnie Mouse and Mr. Magoo Sketches from Animator Paul Carlson, A Stunning Background Painting & Dorothy Lamour Cel. (1932-2018) Paul Carlson started with Walt Disney Studios during the production of LADY and the TRAMP, and continued his work well into 101 DALMATIONS and illustrated six books on how to draw Disney characters. Under his own banner Paul Carlson Cartoons, he worked with Hank Saperstein on Mr. Magoo. Offered are three (3) original and personalized illustrations drawn free-hand with a black Sharpie of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Mr. Magoo each saying "Hello" to a specific person, signed and dated by Paul Carlson in the early 1990s. Also included is his 1973 publication from UPA, HOW TO DRAW MR. MAGOO. Also a beautifully hand painted background 10 x 14" of exceptional quality. This was found in the Carlson collection and not entirely sure from a Disney film. But it is exceptional in its capture of shadow and softness of fresh snow. Finally an unusual hand painted cel and background 8¼ x 10" clearly of Dorothy Lamour. Merrie Melodies and Looney Tunes frequently included cameos of recognizable stars, but this cel also found its way to Western Costume and used as a sign to return props and wigs. In fact the visible messaging of Return To Prop Department have been glued atop other previous messages regarding props and supplies attached to cel. All that aside, a fantastic and colorful handpainted animation cel of Lamour sure to intrigue any fan of animation. Estimate Value $500 - UP

Three (3) Disney Hand Painted Animation Cels: Two of Snow White, One of Lucifer the Cat from Cinderella. A collection of three hand painted, possibly for publicity or limited edition pieces from the 1990s. Offered are two of Snow White singing, the details and coloring of her face and costume beautifully executed. Both are virtually the same each 10¼ x 12½" and in excellent condition. The third is the villainous cat Lucifer from Cinderella 10¼ x 12½" again in excellent condition. We are familiar with this cel as the back ground is usually a bowl of cream he is dipping his paw into. With reproduction backgrounds or simple white, these can be framed and will present beautifully. Estimate Value $500 - UP

A fine collection of three hand painted animation cels possibly for publicity or limited edition series popular in the 1990s. First up are two (2) different and absolutely charming cels from PINOCCHIO. The first is Pinocchio speaking to Jiminy Crickett standing with umbrella and top hat 10½ x 11¼". The second is when Pinocchio begins to sprout the ears of a donkey, 9¼ x 10½". Fantastic colors and make for a great pairing. The third is Mowgli atop Baloo as they float down a jungle river. 10½ x 12½". Estimate Value $500 - UP

Disney Animation: One 7 Character Anniversary Cel Including Vintage Mickey, Peter Pan, Bambi & One Cel of Snow White. Two (2) Disney animation cels possibly for publicity or limited edition issues. The first is a seven character cel, clearly a publicity or anniversary piece. Included in the piece is 30s era Mickey Mouse, Captain Crocodile, Peter Pan, Bambi, Flower and Cinderella. There is a cut and tear to the far right side that impacts backside of Cinderella and the tip of Flower's tail. Discreet trimming of Cinderella could easily salvage the full appeal of this piece. 10½ x 14". The other cel is a pencil outline of Snow White and the painted cel as a result. The sketch shadow on paper intentionally sets apart by 20% of the painted cell to excellent effect. Both of these pieces are prime for framing. Estimate Value $500 - UP

Stan Goldberg, Celebrated Comic Book Artist for "Archie" Marvel and DC & Chic Young "Blondie". Chic Young (1901-1973) created one of the most widely read comic strips of the 20th Century, "Blondie" at one point far exceeding 50 million readers. The strip spawned a series of 28 films from Columbia Pictures between 1938 and 1950. Chic Young was awarded the National Cartoonist Society's Reuben Award in 1948. Offered is a very impressive hand inked panel by Chic Young dated 5/6/57 of the Bumstead household including Dagwood, Blondie, Alexander, Cookie, Daisy and her puppies. Inscribed and signed in Young's fastidious penmanship, panel measures 5 x 16" framed and matted to 9 x 10". Stan Goldberg (1932-2014) enjoyed a long career as a comic book artist working for DC and Marvel Comics. But he is best known for his Archie comics. Offered are three hand illustrated character portraits in pencil and signed in ink by Stan Goldberg. Included are portraits of Archie, Dagwood and a double portrait of Betty and Veronica. Archie is 6 x 6",Dagwood 7 x 6", and Betty/Veronica 8½ x 7". For fans of the hit television series "Riverdale" these are gold. Comes with COA. Estimate Value $500 - UP

Three Original Illustrations: Matt Groenig, The Simpsons, Bob Kane Batman, and Maurice Sendak Where The Wild Things Are. Two excellent, original, ink illustrations by three favorite illustrators of the 20th Century. Matt Groenig, creator of THE SIMPSONS, has hand drawn, signed and dated an illustraion of Marge Simpson (6" x 4"). Bob Kane (1915-1998) comic book writer and artist who co-created, with Bill Finger, the DC Comics character Batman. On the back of a 5 x 3" card. Maurice Sendak (1928-2012) acclaimed author of children's book including HIS masterpiece, WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. Here he has signed and illustrated one of the characters from that book, a first day of issue envelope and stamp celebrating Thomas Jefferson and his quote regarding his "sworn hostility to every form of tyranny," (years later after issue.) An appropriate piece to have him sign and illustrate mirroring a deeply held belief by Sendak, informed by losing so many family members during The Holocaust. All three are in excellent condition and very suitable for framing. Estimate Value $600 - UP
